History
Cycle Shooting is a gun shooting game released by Taito in 1986. There are six stages in total, alternating between horizontal-scrolling and fixed-screen stages. In order to save the kidnapped girl, the player uses guns to finish off red-haired Mohawk guys who attack from motorbikes, cars and trailers.
This was the second shooting game from TAITO, as it can be read on the game flyer.
Technical Details
The original board for this game uses a microcontroller whose ROM has not been dumped. So it is not currently playable. There is a playable bootleg called Bronx. You will find the MRA for it in the main Arcade list (not listed as an alternative). Many bootlegs threw away microcontrollers and adapted the code of the big CPUs not to communicate with them.
Notice how this game uses a vertical screen (tate) setup. The reason for it is that the game has levels with horizontal scroll, but the hardware can only do vertical scroll. So in order for it to look horizontal, the screen must be rotated.
The scroll feature of this hardware is column based, which means that a different scroll value is applied to each 8-pixel column on the screen. This is how the score looks static at the bottom of the screen as the software does not update the scroll register for it. There is a bit of parallax scrolling on some levels built by applying different scroll values for each column too.
So far, there is only support for mouse and sinden lightguns. There have been comments and suggestions about other control methods and we plan to look into that.

Comments
We have tested and found that the game works on both NGP and NGPC, but there is a problem with the behaviour of METAL SLUG button on the NGP and it is currently unplayable. We are investigating what the problem is.
