Fantasy Zone 2, Riot City and Toryumon

SEGA surprised us with a new System 16 title in 2008! It was a sequel to Fantasy Zone, and it was designed to run on a System 16 board expanded to 256kB of RAM. This week's core update gives support to this variation, also known as System 16C. If you liked the first game, Fantasy Zone 2 will catch you from minute one.
Do you remember CPS2 Puzzle Fighter? A similar game was done for S16 and with characters and music that will remind you of Ranma. The puzzle this time is about making circles, it takes a while to get used to it, but I particularly like this title a lot.
Finally, one more brawler: Riot City. This game was SEGA's response to Final Fight in the arcades, with even some resemblance in the introduction scenes during attract mode.
The S16 core is finally achieving stability. We have several game variations that didn't work before are available now. You won't need to look in the alternatives folder any more for Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Alien Syndrome or E-Swat. The Japanese versions of Cotton work now too.

¡SEGA nos sorprendió con un nuevo título de System 16 en 2008! Era una secuela de Fantasy Zone, y se diseñó para la placa System 16 expandida a 256kB de RAM. La actualización de esta semana trae soporte a esta variación, también conocida como System 16C. Si te gustó el primer juego, Fantasy Zone 2 te atrapará desde el minuto uno.
¿Te acuerdas de Puzzle Fighter (CPS2)? Se hizo un juego similar para S16 y con personajes y música que te recordarán a Ranma. El puzle esta vez se trata de hacer círculos, lleva un tiempo acostumbrarse, pero a mí particularmente me gusta mucho este título.
Finalmente, uno de peleas: Riot City. Este juego fue la respuesta de SEGA a Final Fight en los recreativos, incluso con cierta semejanza en las escenas de introducción durante el modo de demostración.
El cor del S16 finalmente está logrando estabilidad. Tenemos muchas variaciones de juegos que antes no funcionaban y ahora están disponibles. Ya no necesitarás buscar en la carpeta de alternativas para Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Alien Syndrome o E-Swat. Las versiones japonesas de Cotton también funcionan ahora.

FYI that is an 8-bit sms game, basically this is a remake that was designed to run on minimally-enhanced original system 16

2021-11-20 15:47:14 +0000 UTCFYI, Fantasy Zone II was already available on MiSTer via the Sega System E core... along with a few other arcades. I wonder how yours and theirs might compare.

2021-11-10 09:28:13 +0000 UTCWas giving E-SWAT a go but every time I get to the Stage 9 there seems to be a glitch that makes the stage unbeatable. There is a car that momentarily appears on screen but vanishes after a couple of seconds. After that the game cannot progress... I have tried on Set 4 World and Set 2 Japan versions with the same results... Is anyone having the same issue? Edit: apparently others have mentioned this above already so it seems I am not alone.
