Halloween Cotton

A witch flying through a haunted forest, opening cauldrons and fighting zombies... the perfect plan for Halloween.

The new S16 beta now supports Cotton, which was plagued with bugs before (give it a go with the old RBF file for comparisons). There is still a small graphical glitch in a couple of places, but the game is fully playable now.

Coming forward, I want to close System 16 in November. Believe it or not, there are still about 50 MRA files pending! Yet, most of them are variations of games already supported. System16 was more like 16 different systems indeed!

No need to update jtbeta.zip, just use update_all or grab the attached files and unzip them to the root of your SD card.

Una bruja volando a través de un bosque embrujado, abriendo calderos y luchando contra zombis... el plan perfecto para Halloween. La nueva versión beta de S16 ahora es compatible con Cotton. Este título antes estaba plagado de errores (pruébalo con el antiguo archivo RBF para compararlo). 

Todavía hay un pequeño fallo gráfico en un par de lugares, pero el juego es totalmente jugable ahora. Quiero cerrar ya el Sistema 16 en noviembre. Lo creas o no, ¡todavía hay alrededor de 50 archivos MRA pendientes! Sin embargo, la mayoría de ellos son variaciones de juegos ya compatibles. ¡System16 era más bien 16 sistemas diferentes!

No es necesario actualizar jtbeta.zip tan solo usad update_all o copiad los ficheros a la raíz de la tarjeta SD.

I had the same issue today. Think I’ll create a script to automatically copy/move the content of the mame folder from the SD card to my external USB SSD.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why any of the Arcade cores are not working. They all default to a black screen. Cotton, AVP, Commando...anything. After several days of fiddling with it I copied "jbeta.zip", "beta.zip", and "s16mcu.zip" to the MAME directory under GAMES and deleted all of the zipped mame files in the GAMES folder, deleted all of the .MRA files in "_ARCADE" folder, deleted all of the .RBF files in the _Arcade/cores folder, and then tried to force UPDATE-ALL after removing "last run" for Jotego cores. I made sure that beta cores are downloaded automatically via the UPDATE-ALL script. As it stands I have the newest .RBF files as well as the manually installed "jtbeta.zip" but I still cannot figure out why none of the cores are working. My last ditch effort was to completely wipe the SD card and start from scratch and re-download everything. Still no luck. Edit: So I believe I found the problem. I found that when I remove the USB drive with my non Arcade Cores on it everything seems to work. It turned out the issue was that on that drive there was an _Arcade and mame folder so the problem was it was trying to read data from two locations :)
