One Big Ola!
Added 2024-07-27 17:15:19 +0000 UTCOla to any strangers who still care to read my rare blogs! (who are you btw?? o_O )
I think I've got some news to share, but (what a surprise), I have no idea from what to start even. Mostly because I didn't have the will for regular writings here, cause I always get tired at the end of my workday, and all the small amount of my free time I get is spent on drawings, instead of typing any text-spam for my social accounts. From other hand, as an artist I must provide any feedback to people who watch me, at least once within the year.
Alright, quotum for useless introduction is successfully done! Now to the small local news.
π² A few words about general drawing activity and life
Some of you may notice that for the last 2 years I'm not very active here: I don't publish the same amount of arts here and don't accept new commission orders very often as I was before. All this is related to how much of free time I have now. Since all the nightmare of covid and business restrictions is already in the very distant past (for me at least), I'm quite busy with my job again.
For me - this is a very good and I'm still happy about how all the things in my life got back to normal. For people who are expecting to see more arts from me as from any other artists in the fandom - I suppose this is not great news. But I always wanted you to know that my drawing for me is just a hobby that I can do only when I have the free time after my job. No matter, if this is personal arts, or commissions.
But I'm not busy with my job all the time of the year, and this is what my next part of the text is about.
At this moment in time there is a raining season going on in my region, therefore I have a less amount of workdays and more days off, and that means more free time. This situation will continue to the beginning of October, and after that I will be very limited with my free time again. There is also a chance, that one of the shifts could be dropped to me in the September, but I can't know it for sure right now.
Anyway, while I have this period of time, I think I will be able to make a bit more arts than I used to do in the past. But if my plans will change, due to my job or life situation, I will try to inform you about that, just to not make you to wait for nothing.
π² Commission activity
This one is the important part. I guess many people who wanted to commish art from me, figured out about queue list on my FA profile page. This list exists for pretty long time and honestly I'm very tired of seeing it every time when I came here. I even get annoyed a bit by the fact that instead of getting it shorter, the queue only rises more with adding new positions in the list. Perhaps I did too many exceptions for people asking to add them, just to be kind and to not upset them. But it turned into a worse situation, where some of the positions from that queue now waiting for their turn for over 2, 3 or even more years.
Such a fact pressing on me every time when I'm trying to draw, and sometimes it badly effects my inspiration.
Therefore, not a long time ago I decide to officially inform that I will not take any more commissions for my queue, until I finish the current one. At this moment in time, it has 14 positions, 14 people for who I gave my promises, and who (maybe?) still awaits for their turn. I feel guilty myself because of that, and my general plan for my current holidays is to close all orders, or most of them, just to not make the commissioners wait for more time and move this debt out of my mind. I also understand that after so much time has some commissioners from that list could change their mind, and I will understand if any of them will decide to cancel their orders now. Perhaps, in some of the cases they could be changed the idea of the commission itself, cause some of them contain a large amount of work, that I'm not ready to do (like long-sequel comic pages, damn I will die in agony while I will work on such project too long and for more than one commission in the queue).
For people who are already in this list, I'm open to discuss about your commission at any time (except during the next day since the publishing of this note, cause I will be busy with my b-day). For the rest who are still planning to get a position in my commission queue, it is better to wait, or even try your luck with other artists, since the fandom is full of them!
π² Publishing on E621
...and to the last news.
Well, yeah, my arts are also there already. I didn't expect that something like this would ever happen, cause I have gotten used to that people prefer to upload more popular artwork on E621 from more popular artists. While I know that I'm not one of them cause I don't draw regularly, and the commissions I've been stuck with drawing are the same theme over and over again. Anyway, here it is.
Actually I don't mind too much about it as long as people are uploading my arts there with related links to my original submissions. But for people who see my arts on E621 or other similar resources and who are even leaving comments there with questions to me, just in a case if these people will eventually came here later and see this note, I want to inform that beside my FA page and Patreon, I don't upload my arts anywhere else. So, all your questions that you may leave under my arts on other resources, will never receive my response.
I don't own 200 accounts on each possible resources of the Internet. Instead, managing FA and Patreon account for me seems already enough and I don't plan to expand as professional artists do to many other places. It's all because I'm not looking for large popularity and I'm fine with what I have today.
Anyway, I feel it's important to warn anyone who would like to publish my art somewhere else, next time to contact the owner of the OC, which is used in the scene. This is about commissioned arts that I shared here. I think it will be fair to ask the opinion of the commissioner for whom I made this art, if they don't mind it being uploaded on E621 or anywhere else.
Comments
I appreciate you making this post and providing clarity! I'm glad to know you're going to focus on clearing your commission queue and not add to your stress. I'm looking forward to what art you make, either commissioned or personal! Take care of yourself, Naty!
