Embrace Of The Abyss— 7

If the information from the Cultivation technique was right then wasn't she close to Qi Refining?

She had completed Qi Gathering!

With a subtle intent of her will she could now freely control this energy and use it to draw power far beyond a normal human.

Xia Ling felt like she could now walk the streets at night without fear!

A silly smile emerged on her face but it soon disappeared as she saw Xia Feng open his mouth and toss the remaining two spirits inside.

"???"

"Isn't that cannibalism!?" Xia Ling jumped up and pointed at Xia Feng with an incredulous expression, "Why are you eating ghosts!?"

"Who said I'm eating them? I'm just saving them for later use. Do you intend for me to keep them on me while we leave?"

"Uh-" Tongue-tied Xia Ling remained silently wondering if she could come up with a witty comeback.

A few seconds later she followed Xia Feng out with drooping shoulders.

Xia Feng once again raised his palm and the spherical white light reappeared. This time Xia Ling was able to understand properly.

What Xia Feng was doing was casting a technique that formed a small domain around them. Due to this domain, anyone who didn't cultivate could not see them.

It was extremely simple. If you couldn't see Qi then how could you see their figures surrounded in a blanket of Qi?

It also pleased her that she was now stronger than Xia Feng.

After all, he was in the Early Stage of Qi Gathering while she was in the Completion stage! Feeling smug her stride became bigger and soon they exited the street.

"What do we do now?" Xia Ling suddenly realised that she had no idea what to do next.

Ironically, while the technique she cultivated was called the 'Nine Yin Refining Method' there was no guide on how to actually refine the ghosts!

She could only use them to gather Cold Qi!

"Gege, help!" She changed her tone and tugged his sleeve.

"No. You'll be the one to capture the spirits next time. I'll teach you how to refine pure Cold Qi from the spirits in a bit."

Xia Feng looked at his bank account and smiled. "Go home for now and familiarise yourself with the Qi you've just gathered."

Pointing a finger at her forehead, a bunch of information appeared in her mind.

"Ghostly Yin Palm? Death Steps? Spirit Saber? What the hell...?" She looked at Xia Feng and gulped, "Gege..."

"Try to practice these techniques. They're called scriptures, all extremely precious. Oh also, don't tell anyone anything."

Though Xia Feng didn't elaborate Xia Ling understood.

She nodded with a fascinated expression and suddenly thought of something.

"Wait!"

Xia Feng was about to leave but he paused and looked at her curiously.

But to his surprise, she raised her finger and pointed her finger at Xia Feng's forehead.

'Thank you Gege!'

A message appeared in his mind as Xia Ling hopped away in happiness and embarrassment.

After confirming that she boarded a taxi he left.

...

Now that he had sent her away Xia Feng arrived at a herb market.

With the amount of Qi present in this world there was no hope for him to cultivate normally. Not to mention his 'normal' was extremely different from the regular cultivator.

Too bad he couldn't act conspicuously for now. If the World Will locked onto him and discovered his origins things would become troublesome.

He'd have to lay low for a while.

His eyes scanned the surroundings and he pondered over the sense of familiarity he had initially felt when he crossed over.

When he looked at the memories he grew sure but it took him a while to confirm it.

"So this is where Chaos erupted." Xia Feng suddenly understood why The Nine Yin Body was sealed here.

But thanks to this conclusion the suspect list became quite narrow.

"It's fine. There's no need to brainstorm, once I return I'll sever this karmic bond. Guided by the Heavens, one should not question when Death follows." A gentle smile surfaced on his face.

He remembered the last phrase he heard before passing away. The yell full of desperation echoed in the Immortal Realm as the Bridge to Longevity was shattered.

"To understand the Dao is to merge with the Heavens! What is Immortality? What is Longevity? All fall under the will of Heavens!"

A mocking look flashed past his eyes.

Shaking his head he entered the market and casually purchased about all the items in the list when he frowned.

"A Thousand-Year-Old Pure Jade..."

He asked around and a few answers led him to the shop he was now standing in front of. He was about to enter when the bulky bodyguard in front of the store blocked his path.

"Do you have a Visitation Pass?" He asked politely.

The incident a few days ago made sure he couldn't treat anyone arrogantly.

Xia Feng shook his head.

"Then I apologise, you cannot enter. Are you an acquaintance of the Master? If you'd like you could tell me your name and I'll go ask Miss."

"No need." Xia Feng shook his head.

He activated the Blind Domain and walked past the guard. The guard seemingly not discovering anything continued his job.

The Blind Domain was the white spherical light that Xia Ling called 'Magic'. It was a basic spell that shielded him from the sight of mortals.

Once he entered the luxurious shop he dispelled the Blind Domain and casually looked around. The shop did not have a lot of customers and after looking at the prices of the items within he understood why.

Even the cheapest item here was 30,000 Yuan.

It was not a shop that lower or middle-class people could casually walk in.

He walked to the receptionist.

It was a young lady with shoulder-length blonde hair. She was dressed neatly and had light makeup done.

The receptionist looked at the calm-looking young man.

"Welcome sir, would like me to give you a small tour of the shop and items within? My name is Mu Huanqing!" Her voice was pleasant to the ears.

"The Thousand Year Old Jade, is it available?"

The moment Xia Feng said this an odd look passed through the eyes of Mu Huanqing.

"Are you talking about the Pure Yang Jade? But Sir that was sold a few days ago. A VIP auction was held just recently, considering you have a Visitation pass I assume you were informed of the Auction and the items being sold."

Xia Feng's expression didn't change, "To whom?"

"Miss Tang," Mu Huanqing said with a gaze full of admiration but seeing his expression she continued. "Tang Xianrou of the Tang Family from the North. It's said the Old Master of the Tang family is ill. I believe the reason for buying the jade was to supplement his health."

Mu Huanqing explained before muttering, "I wonder if it worked. There's been no news."

Xia Feng didn't bother conversing any longer and left.

Seeing him leave the pretty receptionist was startled, "Wait! Sir do you not wish to buy something else? We have a lot of... things." By the end of her sentence, her voice turned quiet like a mosquito because Xia Feng ignored her completely.

"A handsome young man, how charming but too cold~" Mu Huanqing whispered to herself before leaning back into her chair lazily.
