2026-02-16 22:25:01 +0000 UTCI saw a theory posted at one point that suggested that Chris might not just be working for Eris but might in fact be Eris herself. Have not checked to see if this is confirmed by the manga but rewatching with you makes me think it might be true. I think it was in Season 2 where after Kazu commented on how boring it must be for Eris in the empty void, Eris mentioned that she sometimes sneaks down to the world. Would also make sense why she befriended Darkness as she is a member of Eris' sect. When Kazuma "prayed" to Eris before engaging the thief that was when Chris 'sensed' Kazuma. Cue the meme "Coincidence? I think not!" But the most damning evidence for it seems to be how when Kazuma died to the Kobald the first thing Eris scolded him for was molesting Chris(they also both seem to not be happy with the size of their assets) it seemed she was almost personally offended by him rather than being offended for her friend. Lastly is the fact that both Chris & Eris asked Kazuma to go after the sacred treasures. If I'm wrong on this theory, then with that last part I think we can, if nothing else, say that Chris is at least working directly for Eris. All this is to say, with this theory in mind, rewatching the first half of Season 3 is really fun, especially any scenes involving Eris & Chris
