GGO2 Alignment Chart

(I posted this over on the DA gallery, but I'ma post it here too as I find I get more meaningful engagement over here and to be honest I post this kind of stuff so people can talk about it, you know?)

Just something I did for funzies. Everything in the GGO2 world is based off of generic D&D style world stuff so I thought it'd be fun to examine what alignments all of the gals would be. Seemed appropriate as I've already done a write up on how they'd compare using the standard d20 style ability scores.

To go into more detail (Because I just can't help myself)

Lawren: Lawful Good. Lawren is a good girl. She always follows the rules and is very kind and respectful to everyone she meets. She is a precious cinnamon bun and I don't want to hear about any of you giving her a hard time.

Dhree: Neutral Good. She has a job to do and she will do it even if she has to work outside of socialital norms. She does this because she cares about the fate of the denizens of the universe, and does not want to see every living thing that has ever existed be wiped out should she fail.

Adeen: Chaotic Good. She cares very deeply about her fellow living beings and hates to see any harm to come to any of them. However, she's always been on the wrong side of the law and kind of likes it that way. Besides, she's seen people use the law as an excuse to bully and take advantage of people too many times. Fuck da police.

Alba: Lawful Neutral/Evil. Before her fall she only cared about the completion of her current mission. Morality never factored into her actions, her only desire was to uphold law and order no matter the cost. After her fall she realized that the only way to maintain order was to completely dominate every being in the universe and bend their will to her own. Honestly she was skirting the line between neutral and evil all her life. Her fall just gave her that final little push over the edge.

Joh: Neutral. Joh lives life completely on her own terms. She doesn't wish harm on anyone, but won't typically go out of her way to help them either. She's fiercely independent, but has learned how to play by other peoples rules when it benefits her.

Bel: Chaotic Neutral. Bel does what Bel wants to do whenever Bel wants to do it. She doesn't necessarily enjoy hurting people, but she doesn't care if she does so while getting what she wants. Also sometimes she loves causing a bit of mayhem just for fun.

Eekah: Neutral Evil. Sure she's relentlessly single minded about achieving her goal even if she has to wipe out all of existence in order to do so. And yes, maybe she's a little sadistic. A lot sadistic. Regardless, she doesn't commit evil acts at random. Everything she does is meticulously planned regardless of how impulsive or flighty she may act.

Erika: Chaotic Evil. I mean, come on. She's a sociopath. She's literally incapable of feeling or understanding the concept of empathy. Her only thoughts are about fulfilling whatever her current desires are. She barely acknowledges that beings with concerns outside of catering to her every whim even exist. The lives and well being of other people are of less than no concern to her, and the laws don't apply to her because she's royalty and therefore above such things.

Also while I'm thinking of it, I'll go ahead and list what school of magic each gal, (excepting Dhree and Eekah) are aligned with.

Lawren: Abjuration. Specializes in making magical charms and trinkets.

Adeen: Transmutation, specifically time manipulation

Alba: Enchantment.

Bel: Abjuration. She subconsciously channels mana into herself when stressed in order to make herself stronger, faster, more durable, or whatever else she might need at the time. Could probably do the same for others if she took the time to learn how.

Joh: Necromancy.

Erika: Generalist. Her mana is extremely versatile and she excels at any sort of spellcasting she attempts. When asked what she's aligned to she'll answer with whatever strikes her fancy at the time.

OKAY! I think that's enough superfluous rambling for now. Enjoy the arbitrary character generalizations!

I've said it before to many people: Never apologize for commenting. The greatest thing you can do for any creative is give feedback on their stuff, regardless of what you might think about your thoughts. Personally I love hearing peoples opinions on my OCs because I'm one of those assholes who will talk about them forever if given the chance. I just now noticed that all the "goddesses" are neutral! Kind of like how I didn't expect to assign everyone a different alignment, it just kind of worked out that way. Adeen is a thief, but she's not a bad person. She mostly steals because 1) She needs to in order to survive, 2) She enjoys the challenge and 3) She likes to get one over on people she feels deserve it for hording wealth and/or resources. She doesn't wish direct harm on those kinds of people, she just thinks it isn't right to see people living the high life while others are in the streets starving to death. She's not real good about 'Robin Hooding' her ill gotten gains out to people as she probably should be though. Honestly her empathy is something I kinda added to her character later on in her development so I can understand why that might not have come across at first. I'm in the process of rewriting things so they match up better to what her and the rest of the cast eventually became as I fleshed them and the world out more. Bel was more chaotic before her introduction into the story. Meeting Joh calmed her down a bit, but she still enjoys causing mayhem when it's appropriate. And yes, Joh is Joh. Nobody gonna tell Joh-Joh what Joh-Joh go-gonna do or how-how to be. Alba was always the type to follow the letter of the law more than it's spirit, so her fall was inevitable. Like I said: Lawren is a good girl. Not a mean bone in her body. Finally, if I had the option Erika would be Chaotic Chaotic. She considers herself a very moral person because everything she does is moral by virtue of her having done it. Obviously she *can't* be evil. (She totally is evil though.)

I think all the alignments make perfect sense for all the characters now that I really sit and think about it and have it laid out🤔. Now from here I just wanted to comment on stuff for fun too so can be ignored if not interested. I also like how all the goddess characters, and our "goddess in training" are all the different neutral alignments. Though I also thought that Adeen might toe the line between chaotic good and chaotic neutral sometimes. (but the chaotic fits regardless). I think Bel as chaotic neutral surprised me the most, I guess I could see her as mostly neutral with just a pinch of chaotic, but she just never appeared that chaotic to me. Though she would also be the only one that could fit that I suppose. Joh is just Joh so neutral is just natural lol I like Alba representing the lawful neutral before and then evil after her fall. Lawren is the only one who could be lawful good out of all of them. Also Erika could ONLY be chaotic evil...or maybe just chaotic incarnate haha
