GGO2 Round 8 Weekend update!

Sup folks. Know it's probably been a rough week for some (I won't go into why,) myself included. I've been having a lot of trouble getting myself motivated this time around due to the general feelings of uncertainty.

HOWEVER the Grow Off must continue! Hopefully if you are feeling down this past week then at the very least I hope that making our 3 remaining girls grow can bring a little joy into your day.

(As always: Numbers are subject to just plain bein' wrong.)

Once again our beautiful and smart and beautiful and powerful and beautiful and kind and beautiful princess Erika is coming up in last. Lotta bust focus this time around, much like every time around. However! It looks like this time we got some folks wanting to see that absolutely stupid amount of hair get even more stupider.

At any rate, she got some cheese. (Which she has already eaten.)

In second again is Adeen. Honestly this is a pretty good showing considering belly crew hasn't shown up yet, if the numbers are anything to go by. And she's also getting a lot of hair love this time around. Even more than Erika's gotten so far! I doubt she'll be flooding the world in hair like Erika does but she's at least down past her massive ass at this point.

(If you're curious: Both of them are safe this round. A girl needs to lose 3 times to be eliminated and they both have only lost once.)

And as we all expected, Joh has a commanding lead. People are really, really, really focused on the return of Kai'Joh this time. Adeen still has a slight lead in height, but only by 142 meters which is only like an inch and a half in real people numbers. If Adeen hadn't been under performing up until this point and gotten a buttload of affinity bonuses then Joh would have blown her the heck away.

So! I'm getting a feel for the effects of ranked choice voting and they're not really what I expected them to be! If anything they're exacerbating the "problem" of Joh getting too many votes. Seriously, let's look at how everyone'd do if any of the 3 came in last:

If Erika loses:

• Joh -47

• Adeen - 20

If Adeen loses:

• Joh - 49

• Erika - 13

If Joh loses:

Hahaha. ...Wait, you're serious? Okay well if you insist on seeing it:

• Adeen - 27

• Erika - 13

As you can see a loss for anyone barely moves the needle in either direction, mostly because nearly everyone who did chose an alt (several people didn't) chose Joh. I'm chalking this up to two possible reasons:

• Adeen and Erika don't have a lot of cross over fans

• People are taking this as an opportunity to make Joh grow even more

Both of which are fair, I think. I still like the idea and will likely continue doing it... but I'll probably nerf the amount alt picks get unless they're needed. (Like if your votes are Adeen 100 and Joh 50 if Adeen comes in second Joh'll only get 50, but if Adeen comes in last Joh'll get hers doubled to 100.)

I guess we'll just have to wait and see! Still got a full week to go so things might end up changing! I doubt it but we'll just have to wait and see.
