The series is soooo much better than the film! The film seems to just set the jokes without the punchline & expect it to be funny. It's like saying: "My dog has got no nose." then expecting the audience to roar with laughter. eg in the airlock scene about what Arthur's mother said, the film leaves it as only Arthur's first line, ie the joke setup, but the TV (and radio & book) has the full 3 line conversation.

2025-07-24 23:17:59 +0000 UTCAs for any similarities between his work and that of monty python it should be noted he was actually one of the co-writers. However it wasn't until H2G2 that he got the opportunity he'd been wanting where he would have his name properly credited for any of his work.

According to radio/books it's a modification of her birth name, which she adopted because it sounded more "space-like". BTW Before watching I sent a PM mentioning "look out for a cameo appearance by the creator himself, Douglas Adams, walking down the street & then handling the 'small green pieces of paper' & on the beach". Also remember to look out for Peter Davison himself in a later episode. I bet you won't recognise him!
