About the Rush Hour Crush thing; I think that for a while afterwards, Martin Andrews retweeted some further tweets on that particular thread, so maybe you could find them by looking back on his timeline (assuming it's still there and I'm not misremembering)

2024-11-15 19:01:12 +0000 UTCLooking at him talking about petitions was funny the first time I saw this; but now it always reminds me of my own experience with the site. I've signed quite a few of them, but only one got the 100k to be debated in parliament. It was asking for an 'X' gender marker on passports (which several European countries have), for intersex and nonbinary people who don't want to be forced to be pigeonholed into two gender categories that don't really fit. About a month after the petition ended, I (and I assume 100k+ other people) got an email back from some civil servant saying that they're not going to bother debating it, because there's already a provision for people to change M to F or vice versa. So… it probably means that if you get enough votes, they'll send you an excuse for not debating it written by some functionary who hasn't bothered to read what you're asking for.
