Weekly Update

Remember when I said the next update would be roughly 10k words? So. I was so wrong. Sooooo wrong... rip me :D

Turns out the first 4 scenes (a branch that depends on your criminal specialization) are about 4k words each, which leads to a whooping 16k words for the first scenes only. I hit the 10k mark today when I hit about halfway of the muscle!MC scene, and I still need to write the hacker!MC scene in its entirety--but thief and forger are done!

So yes, I'm all over the ending of chapter two now and I'm extremely excited to share it with you all, but I refuse to share an update for something that I'm not fully satisfied with yet, hence the delay in putting it out. :(

This next update will be at least 20k words long if my rough calculations are right:

Crime planning (4*4k words=16k) > common route scene (1~2k words=17~18k) > crime doing (4*1~2k words=18~20k) > common route crime failing (+-1k words=19~21k) > final scene

Not a lot of romance to come on this update, but a hefty dose of crime with a side of betrayal is on its way!

And as a sneak peek (a larger one coming tomorrow for the higher tiers!), here's a bit of the scene for a forger!MC with M.

“No need,” ${m_he} waves a hand at me, typing on ${m_his} phone at the same time. “I’ve got this.”
“And what do you mean by that?” Somehow, I already know ${m_he} won’t bother explaining it.
With a pleased look on ${m_his} face, ${matt} looks back at me. “Meet me outside in an hour, I’ll come pick you up.”
$!{m_he}’s already halfway to the door, but stops to call out over ${m_his} shoulder. “And get changed, you can’t go with me to where we’re going in those work clothes.”
I look down at my worn clothes and then back at ${m_him}, who’s also sweaty and wearing clothes that are worn. Or as worn as ${m_he} allows ${m_him}self to own them. I’m pretty confident ${m_he} could go mostly anywhere with that outfit if it wasn’t sweaty.
*if (sarcastic>=60)
“What do you mean? This is the latest trend in Paris Forger Week!” I call out after ${m_him},
*if (sarcastic<60)
“Yeah, I see what you mean…” I mumble to myself,
but ${m_he}’s already long gone, and I resign myself to follow ${m_his} lead.
I could really use a shower anyway.
