White Day Headcanons | High School AU

Hey everyone! Happy White Day for you all 🥰

I'm not a stranger to creating AUs for my characters to see how they'd fit in each universe and then self indulging with random headcanons for them; and the Ace of Spades ROs are no exception for that.

This morning I was scrolling through twitter (as usual) and being beautifully fed by all the Chilumi & Co art on my feed when I learned today is White Day, and all my fangirling brain could think of was: how would the Ace of Spades ROs behave on White Day???

And thus, high school AU was born. 

This is just a little something I did for fun, and since on White Day the men who get gifts on Valentine's have to give something in return, I decided to write some short and sweet headcanons of how the m!ROs would return a gift MC gave them, and I hope you enjoy it!

Also, I think this is a neat reward for Patreon, so I'm going to be including it on the same category as short stories for the tiers for the future :D and I'm leaving a little guide to what each RO would be in this AU ehe:

A: Chess club president

Alex

- He spent every day of the past month thinking about what he could get you in return to the chocolates you gave him on Valentine’s

- Alex could have asked Nick for help, seeing how often his best friend gets involved with someone, but he doesn’t want anyone to have a say on this gift other than him

- It’s a gift for you, after all. He’ll settle for nothing but the best

- He can’t bring himself to stop you in between classes to give you the personalized chocolate box he bought you, and he’s terrified it’ll melt before he gets the chance

- And what if you reject his gift? He’s mortified

- In a fit of desperation, he decides it’s a great idea to break into your locker and put the chocolate box there, but you catch him in the act

- Hangs his head down in defeat and silently offers you the gift box when you scold him for breaking into your locker

- He’s an absolute blushing mess when you accept the box with a smile on your face, and he can’t stop himself from hugging you in the middle of the hallway

- Sure, everyone can see you two embracing, but maybe that’s exactly why he chose to do it...

Josh

- Marked the date on his planner the minute you turned around the corner on Valentine’s after giving him your gift, he needed to take his time to find the perfect gift to give you in return

- A week before White Day, he had to ask his sister for her opinion because he had no clue what to get you, but he’d rather die than admit that to anyone else

- He bought an exquisite white chocolate truffle, and wrapped it in a white box with a red ribbon (somehow, his sister convinced him that would be the ideal wrapping, and now it’s too late to change it)

- Second guesses himself and the gift choice the whole day, what if you don’t like it? What if it’s too tacky?? What if it’s not tacky enough???

- He’s completely zoned out for the whole meeting between the school staff and the class presidents, all he can think of is when is the best time to give you the gift, so he runs out of there the minute it’s over to find you

- He has to give you his gift before anyone else gets their chance to do so, or his name isn’t Joshua Kim

- Catches you the moment you step out of your last class and drags you by the hand to an empty classroom, immediately handing you the gift when the door closes behind him

- Tries (and fails) to fight back the flush creeping on his cheeks when he realizes you two are alone in a classroom and he’s still holding your hand

- But you love it and the smile on your face is too pretty for him to have any regrets, so he pulls you closer… What? He might as well make the best of this quiet moment between you two

Lucas

- Has to spend the day sneaking around the school with the photographer from the paper after scopes on the White Day gift scene, but the whole time he’s kept an eye out for you, wondering if anyone would approach you with a gift (and hoping no one would)

- In fact, he decides it’s a good idea to capture your reaction to his gift in camera

- With that in mind, he breaks into your locker and leaves the gift there, with a short note so you’ll know it’s from him. All it says is: “Look to your right”, signed with his name in fancy handwriting

- When he sees you coming, he hides in the corner with the photographer in tow, having bribed the kid to take your pic and send it to him asap

- When you open your locker and see the gift, he starts to make his way towards you with a cool expression, but his heart feels like it’ll burst from his chest

- When you turn to the right and look at him with a bright smile, his heart stops

- He thinks he’s never seen anyone look so stunning, and when he hears the camera shuttle, he’s glad he’ll have this moment saved for eternity

- When the hallway starts to get full of students, he takes your hand and gives it a kiss, laughing smugly when you furiously blush. You’re just too adorable for him not to tease you

Matthew

- He’d been drowned in gifts on Valentine’s, but he didn’t care for any of them except yours

- It’s not like he’d said “thank you” or anything, but he took it straight out of your hands and gave you a small smile before walking away. Surely that counts, right?

- According to his research, it’s customary to return Valentine’s gifts with white chocolate on this day, but he thinks that sounds absolutely stupid, and so, he got you a thin, white gold necklace. All the gift had to be was white, so why not give you something you’ll actually be able to hold onto for longer?

- Besides, as much as he fails to show it, he likes you. He’s said so already, hasn’t he? He could have just thought he did, but now is too late to second guess it

- Or so would a normal person think. Matthew stopped at a store before class and bought a single gourmet truffle of white chocolate and added it to the gift box he put the necklace in, he couldn’t risk having you not get the meaning of the gift

- The whole fanclub that usually follows him around keeps trying to talk to him and follow him around school is already at it, and he struggles to hold back the sneer from his face (it wouldn’t be as bad if you were part of them, but he’s also extremely glad you’re NOT)

- Today, though, he understands why everyone’s got their eyes on him, with him walking around the hallways with a delicate gift box in his hands

- Finally, he spots you down the hall and suddenly he’s regretting ever getting this stupid gift. You’ll probably think he’s a stuck up like everyone else

- He’s not about to show his hesitation, though, and practically shoves the box in your hands while trying his best to ignore the way his heart flutters when he sees the blush on your cheeks at the spotlight he’s put you both under

- When he offers to help you put the necklace on, he smirks at the way you shiver when his fingers graze your neck. Maybe this whole White Day thing isn’t so bad, after all…

Nick

- Nick’s always made it a point to not return any of the dozens of Valentine’s gifts he receives, both because he didn’t particularly care for emotional attachments and because it’d be too much effort, and he couldn’t be bothered if he tried

- Plus, he has a busy schedule with football practice and, you know, life

- But this time you gave him a gift, and joke as he might, he didn’t actually expect you to join in on that tradition and give him such a heartfelt gift

- Before he realized what he was doing, he’d bought you a whole box of fancy white chocolates on his way to school that morning

- And well, since he bought it, he might as well give it to you, right? It’d be pretty pathetic to just eat it all by himself instead… Unfortunately, he had no plans on how to give it, seeing as it was a purchase he made on a whim

- It’s not like he didn’t think about it; quite the opposite really, he’s been entertaining the idea of getting you something in return since the moment that small smile curled your lips when he accepted your gift, he just never thought he’d actually do it

- Yet here he is, strutting down the hallway with sharp eyes looking for you. Just because it was unplanned it doesn’t mean he won’t make the most of it, he has a rep to keep!

- He smirks when he finds you closing your locker and immediately traps you against it, with one hand above your head and the other handing you the chocolate box with a fancy, golden bow on top of it

- His smile only grows when you call him an idiot for embarrassing you like that while you take the gift from him, but you don’t complain when he drops his arm over your shoulders and walks you to your next class

Peter

- He got his fair share of gifts on Valentine’s and was polite and nice to everyone, but yours was the only one that really mattered to him

- You just looked so cute sneaking up on him after practice with a smile and a neatly wrapped gift box in your hands… he’s had a hard time forgetting that moment, to be honest

- He knew right away that he absolutely had to get you something in return, there were no questions asked

- Other than “what” he should get you, he means

- You’re just??? So amazing??? Like? What could he possibly get you that’d stand out over the countless other gifts you’re very likely to receive? He doesn’t know, but he’s asked every single person he could think of, and has shut down all of those ideas

- None of them were good enough for you, and he’s not sure if anything could be

- But today’s the day, so he had to do something before it was too late

- He tried baking a fancy white chocolate dessert for you, he really did, but his cooking skills are atrocious at best, so he had to resort to ordering a custom made assortment of handmade white chocolate truffles

- And a single white Camellia he just couldn’t resist buying from the flower shop on his way to school

- Much to his luck, he runs into you before you get into school, and hands you over both gifts with a tense smile on his face

- He’s desperate to get a positive reaction out of you, and when you smile, it’s like the sun has risen again

- With a devious smile, Peter grabs your hand and runs away from school. It’s a beautiful day, and you don’t need to spend it watching boring classes when you have the chance to spend it together somewhere nice

Rodrigo

- Is it already White Day??? What the hell???

- He completely forgot today was the day he was supposed to give you something in return for the Valentine’s gift you so gracefully gave him, and he’s already in class… well, crap. He needs a distraction

- With a desperate plea (and accepting debts he’s very likely to regret in the future), he gets Nick and Peter to pretend to get into a fight in order to distract the school staff so he can sneak out and get you something before you realize he forgot about it

- In his defense, he’s never been the sweetest guy around, he doesn’t even know why you were so nice to him when all he ever does is screw around

- But for some reason he feels bad about forgetting, which is definitely a first for him (... the feeling, not the forgetting part)

- With a distraction successfully taking place, Rodrigo sneaks out of school grounds and races to the closest bakery he can find and orders a large batch of white chocolate cookies with a wide smile on his face

- Purchase made, he makes his way back to school with ease. There’s only a couple of hours before you leave, so he might as well take his time and enjoy the sunlight while he waits for you in front of the school

- He idly starts browsing on his phone… and finds out getting someone cookies in return means it’s a platonic feeling. Shit.

- He races back to the bakery and is almost tripping on his own feet when he storms in, asking for anything made of white chocolate that they have because he’s running out of time

- With a beautifully wrapped chocolate box in his hands and a mouth stuffed full of cookies (what? He paid for those, there’s no point in letting them go to waste), he makes it to school just in time to catch you walking down the front stairs

- He runs up to you and wraps you in a hug before handing you the gift, laughing it off when you ask why he wasn’t in class
