Next Demo Update! January 23

Current word count: 54k (average of 20.5k words per gameplay)

Update goal: 60k

L and R are both properly introduced and duly edited into chapter two now! And that wraps up all the ROs' introductions, and I can't wait until you've had the chance to meet the final two. And now that all suspects have been brought to the table, I can't wait to see if anyone can guess who is/are the person/people who betrayed MC. :)

The next scene I'm working on is a big one, and there's a lot of crime planning involved and... so... many... variables... which is a good thing! This is a scene I've been dying to write in a while, but I'm physically incapable of writing in a non-linear manner, so I had to wait.

I can't wait to get to the nitty gritty of it! There's a lot of coding involved though, so here's hoping my skills are up to par ehe.

This will be the final scene for this update, but given that I have 4 kinds of MC and 2 possible ways each MC can go on it... it's a big one. Big big. I'm looking at the goal word count as I type this and laughing at myself, but oh well.

Other than that, chapter one is officially wrapped up. I've tweaked the transitions to the flashbacks and adjusted the muscle!MC background (I don't know how it didn't occur to me that there was no way to make assault charges mundane enough to justify sending MC to a cushy prison, so I changed the charges to extortion, but it's still the same scenario). I also changed the stats page a little bit, but I like it better now jdfhskdf

"Aren't you a hacker, though?"

I sigh. Everybody always assumes it's that easy to hack into things. And fair, I do make it seem to be ridiculously easy, but that's because I'm just that good, you know? 

I still need the right tools. And those can't be replaced with positive thoughts and bad intentions.

"I am, but all I have with me is my phone. It's not that easy to crack a keypad like this." @{bald I run a hand over my head|I run my hand through my hair}. "This particular model uses the Z-Wave protocol, so it suffers no interference from other networks like wi-fi or any wireless tech. It's only affected by its mesh network, through other Z-Wave devices. And while I do have a way of breaching it, I'd need my laptop with me to do it, and I'd still need a stable connection to be able to run the mining program that would break through its low-latency transmission data feed…"

My voice drifts off when I see the dumbfounded look ${lucas} is giving me, and I realize I'm rambling. "You're not getting anything I'm saying, are you?"

Also, I'm working on editing some short stories I have for AOS that I wrote in a barter scheme with my amazing alpha editor-in-simp and friend Wynna (who is solely responsible for catching my midnight writing shenanigans like "cold shower" and "two craps" and all the in/on mix ups I absolutely *cannot* get right, so everyone say Thank You Wynna please dkfjhskd) to share here on Patreon over the next week, but my priority is mashing out the update content so.... fingers crossed I can get it all done heheh
