What do you think of the zennin clan seeing maki as toji zennin and maki being as strong as toji

2026-02-05 23:49:33 +0000 UTCToji struck fear in the Zenin Clan 2 decades ago yet they never learned their lesson to not mess with people with Heavenly Pacts. Do you think they all deserved this fate?

2026-02-04 15:10:32 +0000 UTCIn the last season, Sukuna told Jogo as he was dying that he should have discarded all his ideals and beliefs if he ever wanted to rise to the level of power he wanted, and now in this season we see Maki rise to levels of power far beyond what almost any sorcerer is capable of, but she lost her heart in the process and seemingly part of her humanity. With the peak powerhouses of the series so far being set up as being either more or less than human (Gojo, Sukuna, and now Toji/Maki), do you think achieving that level of strength does always come with a loss of some of your humanity, or that it fundamentally changes you in some way?

2026-02-04 12:58:06 +0000 UTCCompared to other clans the Zenin appear to be very rooted in their traditions and misogyny. Its not hard to notice but how crazy is it that the only female casualty Maki had was her own mother? The Zenin clan only existed because of Toji's whim. Toji was treated as poorly as Maki because of his heavenly restriction. Yet he spared the clan because he believed his son would thrive there. What are your thoughts behind the Toji aura Maki produced to scare her father shitless?

2026-02-03 22:48:22 +0000 UTCWhy do you think Maki chose not to spare her mother of the rest of the Zenin clan's fate, given she herself was a victim of the same misogyny as her?

2026-02-03 21:18:18 +0000 UTCWith an episode that highlights gender dynamics and draws parallels between two characters. How do you think gender norms might have impacted why two similar in nature characters ended up going in such different directions? They both could've taken action, one of them had the advantage of being a man which we see in the way they were perceived, and yet only one of them had been seeking to create change from the start.

2026-02-03 20:53:27 +0000 UTCGiven how the zenin clan react to Maki being like Toji, with fear and desperation, what do you think is the psychology behind them treating them both with hatred and disgust for having no cursed energy, calling them weak, even though they all clearly fear the strength they have.

2026-02-03 20:52:05 +0000 UTCThis episode has been controversial with fans, with some saying that the music and general vibes of the fight scene doesn’t go well with the more emotional moments and themes of the episode. Do you agree with or understand these criticisms or did you whole heartedly love this episode?
