I think for me the worst part wasn't just that he gave him decay, he gave him a _broken version_ of decay. The original quirk, as you guys said, was similar to overhauls, able to destroy _and_ restore. But Tenko only got the part that destroyed, _literally_ giving him no other options.

Tomura is completely irredeemable and Izuku regularly repeats that he cannot forgive Tomura for what he's done, nor should he. Any ending that actually redeemed Tomura Shigaraki would have been incredibly unsatisfying. Death is the only legitimate justice for him after all the people he's murdered.

2025-12-03 05:09:22 +0000 UTCI'm gonna be real, as much as I like *how* Horikoshi did it, I've never liked that AFO came back as the final villain. Izuku's nemesis and foil has always been Shigaraki, going back to at least the shopping mall if not the USJ. I think the better approach would have been to follow up on Shigaraki wanting to be a hero to the villains of the world. Seeing him have his hatred broken down, and what's left is still a desire to burn down the hero society that made him, his friends, and all the other villains and disenfranchised people out there through their suffering brings him and Deku as foils full circle. Having AFO come back declaring IT WAS ME TENKO! IT WAS ME ALLLLL ALOOOOON TENKO! is cool and establishes AFO as the single greatest hater in the history of fiction, but his story finished, and there's really nothing that bringing him back adds to the narrative imo.

Unsure if he cam ever rejoin society, if he had decay and all other quirks and enhancements removed than theres a much better chance but egen then Im not sure the mental damage done to him will allow anything beyond tight supervision, for both the safety of others and himself. It can ve hard to deprogram someone from a cult and that feels like an understand mental of what happened to him. For comparison someone like Toga inthink coukd have been rehabilitated and freed. Her issue is basically she needs to be taught that there are safe amd non destructive ways to indulge her desires and that society's taboos around it shouldnt be a concern. Which is a lot closer to real life comparisons like self hatred for ones sexuality or sexual nature. (Question of how much punishment she should get for her crimes is another matter and depends on how you think the criminal justice system should work and what the goal should be)

Guy was in the same system as Dabi as a potential choice. 2, in case the first experiment with the quirk modification fails.

Guy manipulated countries to cause a war and genocide just to be given the government contract to kill superman. But its close. All for One wins for the single target of his evil. But Lex was willing to make hundreds of orphans and all the other fallout of war just because people are comparing him to Einstein and Superman.

However, since AFO beefed it up with various other quirks, the original one wasn't that strong." Well, technically, he did, but Izuku also willingly pushed it into him with such force that the quirk factor shattered when it came into contact with that "iron ball". This also caused Shigaraki enough psychological damage that Izuku was able to get to the root of his psyche. Remember that visual they showed of how Bakugo passes stuff to Izuku? "Take this and die!!!" The only quirk that Shigaraki stole from Izuku *and was able to use* was Danger Sense.

2025-12-02 04:35:24 +0000 UTCNot sure if you still think this by the end but it was mentioned before in the show that the plan of transferring OFA was with the hopes that it would be done with such force that it would be destroyed on impact. They tested it with the second which is why there was a conversation of, if it didn't work the way they wanted Shigaraki MIGHT get the quirk and the recoil but the test confirmed that wouldn't happen which is why they proceeded with the rest of the quirks. So there's no chance of the recoil affecting Shigaraki or AFO now. Along those same lines they've shown that the individual and the quirk are inherently one in this mind space so AFO saying decay is gone was also confirmation that Shigaraki was gone along with it.

From a person ignoring a child in need to the manifestation of a quirk that changes the persons mind but they're expected to cope and are ignored, or children born for the intent purpose to make a certain quirk (Shigaraki, Toga and Dabi) so Shigaraki fights as the hero to all "villains" and that is what he seeks to destroy and will fight to make the world a place easier to live in. So I don't really understand Kenny being in disapproval seeing people rooting for Shigaraki, they have been absolutely fucked and trampled and want to see the world burn but that is exactly what Deku sees now and is achnowledged

Itโs been established over multiple season that shiggy and AFO can take over the body when the other is weakened, like when shiggy first woke up, after taking a point blank prominence burn from endeavor, AFO took control to extract Shiggy. Then in the flying coffin dekus barrage allowed shiggy to take control. 2) itโs also been established that there has always been an AFO vestige in shiggy since he got AFO. 3) these 2 points lead to my third, the second AFO (the quirk) was given to shiggy, there was 2 AFO (the person) personalities, and they are independent, like this AFO vestige said he was waiting for shiggy to take OFA then launch a assault for control of the body. On the other hand rewind AFO wanted vestige AFO to start the assault early so he could use warp to get shiggy. So they are independent. So I would agree if rewind AFO was like โoh well I just move my mind to shiggyโ. No, rewind AFO is gone, so Bakugo made a massive contribution because he removed one of the AFO in the world
