2025-02-06 00:50:06 +0000 UTCAhh did some additional research, the changes are only in versions watched or sold in Japan. They created two versions of the Japanese audio. One for Japanese audiences with new names and locations and one for other audiences with the originals.

The subtitled version changes names and even locations to minimize the effect of the animosity between Korea and Japan.

Don't let how poorly it does on polls fool you; most people just probably haven't watched it themselves. But it is a GORGEOUS piece and animation and story art that deserves your attention. Plus, it's a complete series.

I wish either they would have made the enemy fights a bit more difficult for him or shown us more interaction between the shadows or something. Something to get to know them better or their battle strategies etc

They, the Associations that govern hunters in each country, can ONLY measure up to a SPECIFIC level. **“After you’ve surpassed ‘x’ level, you are considered S-Rank.”** If they were able to measure higher, there’d be diff. tiers of the “S-Ranking” classification. With that in mind, the “S-Rank Level” of Hunter Yoon-Ho (White Tiger) and Hunter Dongsoo (Korean ex-pat) may be similar however, we have yet to see if the same holds true for the other S-Ranks of this universe. Which could lend some explanation as to why Sung IL-Hwan (Jinwoo’s Father) simply BEAT THE BREAKS off of Hunter Dongsoo.

The people who speak english on the boat speak english in the subbed i watch And the lost hunter, tries his best to speak english by only saying the important parts he knows, in the dubbed he switches from perfect english to suddenly shortened english and then for some reason they have to call hung to speak with him even though they don’t establish that he is speaking a different language. And i just found that hilarious 😂

In the sub they had all the people who are supposed to speak English just speak Japanese In the dub the just sidestep the language barrier all together and go for the angle that sung looks like a pure animal, which works a lot better and makes more sense

Small side note, this was cut out but in this scene in the manhwa, not a major spoiler, but in the paperwork that they got for Papa Sung it was stated that when he went missing it was prior to the ranking system. So when he awakened he was already an s rank but got trapped in the gate before he was officially ranked
