Have any of the hashira defeated an upper kizuki on their own?? Cause the fact that he did 50% of the work if not more one like 3 upper and 1 lower should surely boost him to the rank just under hashira at least! Also imo the fact that he almost defeated one at the end of season 1 should mean one would be light work on its own.

2024-07-19 15:46:50 +0000 UTCTanjiro currently wouldn't be able to beat or go toe to toe with any of the hashira in a serious fight. Nor has he killed one of the twelve kizuki on his own. He's his strongest and "holding his own" with the help of others (a hashira or zenitsu and inosuke). But on his own, not so much because he's still lacking experience compared to a hashira.. Tanjiro is still the newbie comparatively. Once a lower rank kizuki member is light work for him, I think he's hashira staus.

As when tanjiro went mark mode and blitzed daki he was almost about to die but tengen absolutely walked through her 😂. Same instance with gyutaro uzui had multiple one on one interactions with him throughout the arc and held his own but they was not one instance where tanjiro held his own against gyutaro who was the actual upper rank 6

2024-07-18 02:02:05 +0000 UTCTanjiro is indeed stronger but to say he should be a hashira would be far stretched at the moment when there’s a obvious difference in overall strength between him and the hashira. Even though he has fought multiple of the upper six most of the brunt was dealt with by the hashira like misturi and uzui if anything I think tanjiro is easily a tsuguko (what Kano the butterfly hashira student is), which just means successor or apprentice to become a hashira. People need to realize the the hashira are actual masters completely of their own abilities and breathing form. And the idea of “holding your own” is kinda questionable to me just a tad lol, just because as hashira their trying to protect the weaker demonslayers as we seen with regoku, uzui knocking tanjiro out of danger multiple times, the upper six have their hands full fighting the hashira and tanjiro and the gang jump in and jump out.

Post season three Tanjiro is most certainly strong enough to be a Hashira, and he meets most if not all the requirements to be promoted and those he doesn’t meet could probably be handwaved away, considering his contributions to the Demon Slaying corps. However the real reason I believe he hasn’t been promoted yet is rather simple: bureaucracy. Each Hashira their own area of expertise, responsibilities, subordinates, etc. in the corps and getting Tanjiro set up in that position, especially when he would be new to that type of role, would put to great a strain on an organization clearly preparing for war. So yeah Tanjiro kind gets screwed over because of all the chaos.

2024-07-17 13:04:20 +0000 UTCI wouldn't count Hantengu since killing him was a group effort too. Nezuko and Genya helped fight Hantengu's emotions (Tanjiro wouldn't have survived otherwise). While Tanjiro did deal the killing blow, he couldn't have done it without Mitsuri stalling Zohakuten (plus Genya saved Tanjiro from getting his head crushed by Urami).

2024-07-17 03:30:36 +0000 UTCThere are four requirements to become Hashira, and Tanjiro has only achieved two or three of them: -There has to be an open slot, since there can only be nine Hashira at any given time (This is currently the case; Rengoku's and Uzui's slots are both open) -The applicant must have separately achieved the next highest rank in the corps, Kinoe (Tanjiro isn't here yet; I suspect this may be a benefit of the training in this arc) - The applicant must have fully mastered their chosen breathing style (Debatable whether Tanjiro has managed this; his style is a sort of hybrid of water breathing and sun breathing, so it's hard to judge what constitutes full mastery) -The applicant must slay either one member of the Twelve Kizuki or at least fifty lesser demons (Tanjiro has definitely accomplished this; even if you don't count Enmu or Gyutaro because he had the direct assistance of Inosuke and Tengen, respectively, he undisputably personally dealt the killing blow to Hantengu.)

2024-07-17 00:03:20 +0000 UTCI haven't seen it yet; but I also didn't really look lol. However the scar on Tanjiro's chest is from when Daki Transformed and nearly cut him in half. All of the scars you see besides his mark are from fights you've watched him in. They're all in spots we've seen him take nasty wounds. I love that Demon Slayer adds the scars and damage, so many anime I watch never add scarring unless it's from being burned or something.

2024-07-16 17:25:47 +0000 UTCRegarding Tanjiro's power he is indeed Hasira level but it was stated by the master that the current generation is the strongest one ever, in the past many Hasiras where on par with Tanjiro but were killed by demons like Daki; who was strong but nowhere near Tengen's level; so he still needs to train more to reach their level. Also many of Tanjiro's friends are arguably on the same level but still are not Hashira.

I think that was when Uzui showed up and said that Zenitsu had been kidnapped. We at least know he's not a Hashira since the others don't acknowledge him as one.

Rengokus death has literally drove tanjiro to push himself to the brink in training and fighting to live up to rengoku saying "I believe in you, you will be a future hashira" (he's only smiling so much because he's been sitting on his ass after being injured and is happy to be training again) Also, as kaguyas wife mentioned, this training is ALSO for the hashira themselves to attempt to manifest the mark AT WILL (this giving them a huge boost in power) and this also applies to tanjiro as well. (I agree he's probably capable of taking a lower moon by himself at this point...but they're all gone so they want people who are hashira to HAVE to be able to tangle with upper moons by themselves!)

Like if anyone help you even a little just makes you below the criteria bar Every instance of Tanjiro. 1. Giyu Tomioka (water Harshira) helped Tanjiro and killed spider demon (lower 5) 2. Mugen train demon was a group effort. 3. Daki and Gyutaro (upper 6) also a group effort. 4. Hantengu (upper 4) multiple emotion demon also group effort Tanjiro, nezuko and genya Tanjiro gained physical quality to be a Harshira, but couldn't fulfill the conditions to be one. Tanjiro is like a sub-Hashira❤️🔥 Qualifying criteria are like Rengoku vs Akaza : if rengoku won the battle. And Muichiro Tokito (Mist Harshira) did kill Gyokko (upper 5 demon) solo with no help in combat.
