Enjoy/be saddened, next ep next week!

JJK 2x5

Narutos animation really didn't age well

Limini

I don't know about romantic but they were definitely soulmates. Those can also be platonic but these two were two sides of the same coin. Just that one ended up a teacher and the other turned into Hitler 2.0.

Paulasmol1

It’s a double question are you strong Cuase your born that way or Cuase you made yourself strong and is being the strongest what made you gojo

Braden Jackson

Again, late, but what moved Satoru to education was this: jujutsu society failed Suguru, it failed Haibara, Nanami, himself.

patricia jimjimcherie

Love your insight and discussions, this episode is so important. I hope to see you guys react to the OP and ED with lyrics because they are deep from both perspective. The ED is heartbreaking when you think about it (Geto)

Cation

From my take of it What he more meant by the quote “are you satoru gojo because you’re the strongest or are you the strongest because you’re satoru gojo” is he’s asking if Gojo is the strongest because of who he is, or is he who he is because he’s the strongest. In other words is his strength defined by his ideals and personality, or is his ideals and personality defined by his strength.

Team Outbreak Paintball

“he would rather have a reason to kill people than not have a reason to save people” *snaps* nailed it kenny could not have said it better myself

Hey Kenny, just thought of something about JJK S2 shibuya arc. And anyone else wanted to see yalls thoughts on this. Without spoiling anything. What’s the opinion on the opening of shibuya… in terms of the song itself and the role it plays later on. I personally think that knowing a base of what the song is about provides context to things that happened later on. It doesn’t spoil anything but gives them something to think about.

Izrail Gevorgyan

Manga spoilers Although I'm not the biggest fan of the current manga arc (don't hate it either) I'm so excited for it to be animated bcs I want to see their reactions to Gojo. 😭

emma

Kenny is wrong it's been proven( in the manga) recently that if someone was in the exact situation as gojo they would not be anywhere near his level

Stephan Braham

No she fully understood that he meant kill all non sorcerers that's why she said she's not crazy enough to do it

Stephan Braham

i always saw it more so as brotherly

defnotdai

I always look at it like they weren’t together but they both definitely wanted to be. If things had happened differently, they probably would have been in the future.

Addy

this next arc is going to be really special z

Blaster man1129

been waiting for someone to say this, it seems so canon to me at this point i forget that it's not lol

This episode always hurts to watch, seeing Geto go through very common signs and symptoms of mental health issues and nobody picking up on them. He was going through PTSD constantly hearing the applause from that day, he wasn't sleeping, wasn't eating, losing weight, had flat affect and didn't emote, as well as struggling with cognitive dissonance. You get to watch him go through a slow decent into worse and worse depression all alone with nobody to guide or help him. Then his friend dies while he's already at his lowest. It feels so natural for him to be so easily impressionable by Yuki. Geto finally shows more signs of joy or normalcy when he eliminated his cognitive dissonance and gave himself a grander purpose. If only they had seen how much he was hurting they may have been able to help him heal.

Shawn Allen

Remember geto "died" in the jujutsu kaisen 0 movie

blue_haruki

I assume Sonoda is just a hand of his master or masters. Toji calls Sonoda the "Founder" and then Tojis accomplice tells him "Thats not the Founder". Sonoda might have been the one to make the call, work with, and pay Toji but considering killing Riko clearly is very important to this religious group's goals I would have to imagine the order came down from above Sonada likely from the very top. After all they only get a shot at it once every 500 years or whatever it is. I havent read the manga but I would imagine this religious group comes into play later as well. Having rewatched the scene where Sonada talks about the group and how long it is, the framing, the music. Its all very ambiguos and ominous. It seems to be hinting at them playing a bigger role to me.

Rick Turpentine

Yuki knew Geto meant to kill them. That is why she said the thing about how birds first gained wings. She is referring to natural selection. If you start killing all people that dont have cursed energy you will start to have less "non-sorcerers" and more "sorcerers". So over time the people that survive will be the ones born with cursed energy. Cursed energy is the "trait" that is selected for because those are the ones that live long enough to breed, thus making more sorcerers over time. I guess its more like supernatural selection, as its being influenced intentionally by a process that isnt natural.

Rick Turpentine

Wow, thank you for clarifying.

Nathaniel Depaz

10:30 - 11:30 , this convo reminds me of a social experiment I saw on YT where there's a group of people sitting in a doctor waiting room, and all but one are actors and whenever a beep goes off, they would all stand up and sit back down. Eventually the one non-actor started doing the same thing not knowing what's going on. Later as the actors leave the room one by one, more regular people starts to come in and eventually the room has no more actors but just regular people who has no idea why they are constantly standing up, but just do it.

I've read the manga so I have a little insight on more use cases for RCT and limitless, this will also be spoiler free. If something does get through limitless (which the few things that can in universe he knows about and he would probably deal with them in a very specific way) and hits him dead in the head, unless his whole head is removed, his RCT should be able to heal it as long as the path way or part of the brain that does RCT is still intact. He would most likely need like 90% of his brain so that he knows to heal himself, so like the wound he got fighting Toji was a single point and focused, if that was a hammer and flattened his head, there wouldn't have been a gojo come back. As for If his RCT cant heal it then its far past the point of brain damage and he will probably just die or he was dead to begin with.

KillerB _

So if something somehow gets through limitless and hits him really fucken hard in the head, what will happen if he gets an injury his RCT can’t heal? Will he die or will he get brain damage?

Nathaniel Depaz

thinking about if geto agreed to kill the religious star group w gojo then gojo would turn out exactly how geto ended up being 😔

Jordie

My take on the “Are you the strongest because your Satorou Gojo” question is basically on the premises of don’t tell me I can’t achieve a goal that you can achieve because I’m not as strong as you. Did you work to achieve this strength? If you did then I too can become that strong. Were you just blessed to be this chosen one? If so why don’t you eliminate the problem? Our comrades are dying and you question if what I’m doing has purpose? It’s a really deep question when you think about the layers to it.

Jay Washington

Naruto and bleach (more emphasis on bleach for me lmao) have my vote haha

Jinchuriki87

Gojo waking up, and his eyes being red from crying, connects directly to the OP. OP3 starts with a teardrop, then shows Gojo falling asleep.

Juan Solo

🍗

Juan Solo

Yeah it was Sonoda. Geto took advantage of the situation to not only make the cultists follow him, but also to get some revenge for Riko. Since Sonoda was the one who hired Toji in the first place.

Juan Solo

released like that for a reason and fun in a way o/

Hidan

The pain begins.

no u uwu

Some people believe that Geto’s and Gojo’s relationship was a bit more than friendly. I don’t think this has ever been confirmed. Personally I think it makes sense. I think it makes their falling out and the events of JJK 0 that much more tragic. If it’s not the case that’s fine, but I think the signs are there.

Alseriph

Lol every time someone would suggest for you to watch it in the different order I would be so baffled because I knew that you guys would feel so much satisfaction when you piece together everything at the ending and your mind blown. It doesn't hit as hard if you already know everything.

Katsuki BakuGOAT

I think the one that Geto killed with the doll-thing is the leader of the Star Religious Group that we saw holding Riko’s body in ep.4

Bambina

I love in this very short arc we not only got to see teen gojo, we learned a bit more about gojo, saw him frantic, saw more of his personality and saw him actually lose. Definitely one of my favorite arcs regardless of the amazing animation we saw. I kinda wish more animes did a small arc like this for op characters, I'd love to have seen more of All Might's rookie days and stuff

IzanagiAce

Get ready it's going get crazier

mastertater

Yeah.. i know 😭 im just being greedy

Rudy Velazquez

Technically not infinite, he definitely has a very large amount and the six eyes makes it possible for him to seem to have infinite cursed energy

IzanagiAce

A double upload for episodes 16 and 17 would honestly make my day.

Juan Solo

something that’s been so funny to me throughout this arc is that you guys have kept wondering what will make them hate each other or have resentment toward each other when the whole point becomes that they never could hate each other. they are just forced apart by circumstance and ideology.

Addy

It will just add to the experience

Nathaniel Depaz

nah he has infinite curse energy the six eyes also plays a part with limitless technique, that why gojo never runs out of curse energy

jordan asumani

and not in the OP but the significance of the uniform button - Geto dropping his button in village and it possibly ending up with Gojo when he squeezes it in his hand till he bleeds

Addy

The fan service would send Montana into a catatonic state

Letts React

Hxh is the most possible of those, dragon ball is impossible, one piece is impossible, I’d maybe see a naruto original series watch through some day, and bleach I don’t know :)

Letts React

To me, Geto's breaking point was less the conversation he had with Yuki, and more so the "Premature Death" parts of this episode. Geto had a lot of affection for younger sorcerers, even feeling an intense level of protection over them (we see this come up in JJK0 too). Curses continued to get stronger during this time and Geto saw bright young sorcerers like Haibara (Nanami's classmate who passed away) give their lives up to this cause that seems never ending and unpreventable. Sorcerers/cursed users don't need to go out and kill curses, they do it to protect humans. His friends are giving their lives to help the same humans who clapped for Riko's death and the same humans who were about to execute two innocent little girls. Those girls were being discriminated against just for being sorcerors and were being blamed for the curses attacking their village - when in actuality - they were probably the only ones in the village who weren't leaking the cursed energy that caused the curses in the first place. Geto made the decision in that moment, to prevent another unnecessary premature death of one of his people by these "monkeys". It's all up to interpretation of course, but I think he was heading to a breaking point either way, Yuki was just the only one who really noticed and took the time to talk to him about it.

Dalton W.

Seriously i need more jjk 😭 but it’s probably a lot of pressure for them

Zain kb

How much of a donation do you guys need to do a mass drop for shibuya 🥲

Rudy Velazquez

Also, the "strongest question" I feel can be linked to to "who will Satoru be when he's not the strongest?" Since he wants others to be as strong as him, how will it affect his sense of identity when his students get stronger than him?

Salahadine Abaine

Can’t believe Gojo and Geto broke up in front of a KFC 🙁

smilingsophia

I would love to watch a series about Gojo and Geto in high school before hidden inventory, just a couple of bois in love fighting curses

Nic Peacock

To me this also explains why Goji moved into education (even though he is a terrible teacher), he realized it's not enough to be strong alone and he needs others to keep up with him. He also realized the Jujutsu system is hurting his friends and he wants to help the youth thrive and maybe make the Jujutsu world better for Jujutsu sorcerers without going down the Geto way

Salahadine Abaine

Do Fire Force please at least one episode.🙏

Nathaniel Depaz

Agree, is it having the six eyes and limitless that makes him the strongest or is there something about Gojo inherently that makes him the strongest? I felt like showing the way he automated his technique leans toward being the strongest because he’s satoru gojo. we never really see anyone else use their technique so effectively.

Addy

There’s also a lot of cultural references in the openings and endings if you were curious - sharing a bike, Gojo running to share the umbrella with Geto but the rain stopping before he gets there, the whole concept of “blue spring”, the lyrics of the opening, etc etc etc

Addy

So sad :( Thanks for answering my question! I’m so glad you got the point about Gojo trying to change the system so that others don’t end up like Geto. There are so many things to talk about in the KFC scene: Gojo being upset that Geto is choosing to leave him for something he can’t accomplish rather than the morality of the goal, Geto making Gojo question his identity and purpose by asking whether or not he is more than his power, even the significance of it being in front of KFC and Christmas Eve in JJK 0. And if you look closely when Gojo wakes up, he has a tear in his eye. It could be interesting now that you’ve seen this to watch the Gojo and Geto scenes from JJK 0 on your own time.

Addy

Would yall ever react to any show from what most people consider to be the big 5, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, HxH, and one piece. (excluding one piece). Personally, I'm holding out hope for naruto and hxh

defnotdai

If I had a nickel for every time an anime character voiced by Ryan Colt Levy got bisected, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Juan Solo

I think Geto's question is basically asking, "Is it you being the person using these powers that makes you the strongest, or are you the strongest because you have these specific powers?" He's probably referencing his claim that if he had Gojo's abilities then his plan would have a much higher chance of succeeding. But he's also acknowledging that there is a chance he wouldn't be able to use Gojo's powers as well, because he isn't the same person that Gojo is.

Thiivi

Thanks for answering my question ! for me I think yuki enlightened him and helped him get out of his confusion of how he truly feels and that made it easy and faster for him to choose the path he want to take. but i think even without her, later he might also gone to the dark path, btw she has her own methods to leave an affect on ppl, first geto and then todo when he was thinking of her in s1 🤣 great reaction, so excited to go to the next arc 🔥

Zain kb

the KFC breakup :))))

Neutral Nick

shits about to get tragic

defnotdai

Alright Kenny, you and Montana... Letts buckle up! Because this ride you're about to take for the rest of season 2 is absolutely wild! (And I can't WAIT to see how y'all react!!!

Jinchuriki87

The rain and the shower water in this episode were intentionally made to sound like the clapping of the religious group to further show how much that moment was stuck in Geto's mind.

Thiivi

I always thought the phrase “Are you strong because you are gojo, or are you gojo because you are strong” Meant that geto was asking gojo if power was what made him who he is, or if his character is what makes him so strong EDIT: just finished it and yeah y’all were thinking the same way I just didn’t watch enough of the vid first lol

Jabriel Stockton

technically no adverse affect to his brain because hes getting a new one after every couple of minutes

Daran Tung

Think of Gojos technique automation as a tug of war with Gojos brain, when he overexerts his technique (through automation) it deteriorates his brain, RCT (Reverse curse technique) allows gojo to take the excess cursed energy hes generating and turn it into positive energy that allows him to reconstitute his brain in the places that are failing.

Daran Tung

Um excuse me toji was clearly apple logo

Elijah Wilson

FINALLY

Daran Tung

Lets get ready for pain
