Hi all. The inexorable march toward the conclusion continues with shit getting weird(er) in this entry. Since #6 the series has bent a little more in the direction of body horror. Double down a bit on that in this one. The last chapter will incorporate more of the traditional approach contrasting against the full on weirdness.
Even with a few set backs (brief story down below) things are mostly on track. Should get #10 done over the weekend. Need to put a day in reorganizing both Convent and Oddlock into full volumes, but not sure when I want to focus on that. Next up is Nymph, then back to Vaught. Might sneak in a one off here or there to cleanse the palette a bit. Happy Reading!

The brief story that's not really relevant to anything:
I have two dogs, a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix and a Pit Bull Terrier/Rat Terrier mix. They've lived together in peace for three years. About two weeks ago now, they were out doing their business when another dog barked from the other side of the partition. The terrier mix went to bark back defensively. The GS/Rott went to police the terrier's behavior cause that's what her instinct told her to do. At which point the terrier's breeding told her to not back down. This little feed back loop got out of hand very quickly.
Lots happened in the interim. I know better than to do 90% of the things that led to their fight and the things I did during their fight, but I had gotten complacent for the first category and desperate for the second. It ended with us taking the terrier to the emergency vet with a torn ear, a puncture near her carotid, a broken tooth, and dozens of other lacerations. She had an overnight stay and a few dodgy moments of low body temp, but she's fine now, and we're working on readjusting their relationship. Fun stuff!

The other three novices were going to get the same "tentacled into goo monsters" treatment, but I thought it felt redundant. Congealing them all into a big blob creature might be neat, though. May wind up adding to that when I compile all of it together.

Sounds horrible. ***** I am/was excited about the body horror shift in the story the last several installments as it was something different yet felt like it fit given the story thus far; so when you said you double down on this one I was expecting a bit more than we got. I don't know why I got it in the back of my mind there was going to be more to it; it might be an overly critical mind but we got 4 named novices and only one real transformation. I think I was expecting more horror occurring to them all and just a detailed twisted glimpse at the changes to just one. In my head I was expecting the priests eldritch horror reward but didn't expect to end with what we got even if it fit the menagerie of characters this story has created. Somewhere along the way I thought we were going to get an End of Days merge gone wrong moment with the priest and nuns where they all joined into some nightmare of a being lusting after the flesh and more (might be HSA Flesh Café influenced there). I'll be excited to see the conclusion of this. Even though I am trying to be patient and yes have been waiting on a resolution for Nymph for a bit now since it was first posted a few years back; I am really excited to return to the Vaught story and pick up where that left off.
