2024-03-18 22:39:24 +0000 UTCThere are three relevant ciphers in this episode: A passage from the journal shown during the episode (originally written in what's been named the "Author's Symbol" cipher, a cipher created for this show): "IT STARTED WITH BAD DREAMS WHICH BECAME NIGHTMARES. I WAS FOOLISH, I WANTED ANSWERS, I PAINTED THE SYMBOLS, I SAID THE WORDS: WHEN GRAVITY FALLS AND THE EARTH BECOMES SKY FEAR THE BEAST WITH JUST ONE EYE." Notably, that last sentence was what McGucket said in A Tale of Two Stans. There is another point in the episode where we see a passage that simply translates to "BLACK & WHITE", which likely refers to the dreamscape as seen in the season 1 episode "Dreamscapers". During the credits: "A SIMPLE MAN WITH EAGER EARS MAY TRUST THE WHISPERS THAT HE HEARS" After the credits: "IN CIPHER'S GAME HE NEEDS A PAWN BE SURE TO KNOW WHICH SIDE YOU'RE ON"
