In this instance yes the future was changed due to ONE factor, which is eri. If eri wasn’t there it didn’t matter if ochocao came or not deku dies. That one future he saw was only possible because he didn’t know about eri simple as that 😂.

They were told (hospital, heroes, police, etc) by Deku what her quirk does, in both the manga and anime. Just because Nighteye says what he believes, doesn't mean its a proven fact lol. Just because you believe you can turn into a bird and fly doesn't make it true 😂 People believing in the Easter Bunny doesn't mean it's real lol Nighteye says he 'believes' it was energy and that 'perhaps' the energy converged on Deku to change the future. Deku also said he now 'believes' in a 'sort of energy from someone striving for a certain future'. If Hirikoshi was trying to say that wishing energy was the 100% factual cause, why not say 'it was wishing energy' instead of saying characters 'believe' in it. Not even to mention, at this point in the manga and in the recent chapters, it is introduced as a possible explanation, not as 'this is a proven explanation of how this happened'. Stop shitting on people who want to think of other possibilities 😆

2024-03-16 00:39:08 +0000 UTCAs I said they explain in the next episode how changing the future works and then confirm it again later in the manga that what Sir Nighteye said is in fact how changing the future works Nighteye is literally awake and conscious when Eri rewinds Overhaul the first time and sees it, then he sees it again on surface when the fight is over. Chisaki also screamed what her quirk is which is how the hospital and heroes learned about it There is no guessing speculating or theorising we know for a fact this is how changing the future works which they foreshadow with All Might and Deku who agree to fight the future Nighteye saw together. No matter how hard Deku fights he’s unable to beat Overhaul himself and is about to die before Ryukyu and the others save him, then he needs Eri’s help to fight at full power. Throughout the entire arc the emphasis that it’s a team effort. Which literally becomes the focal point for the rest of the series Arguing otherwise is factually incorrect, which is what baffles me because it’s like arguing the Earth is flat when we can see its round

This is similar to one scientific theory that suggests it might be possible to send data or a message back in time if you could transmit it faster than the speed of light. Nighteye’s ability is visual only meaning he was likely seeing the future light waves reflected off a person, nothing magical

His body still couldn’t handle the power and was getting destroyed meaning it was a very inefficient 100% with Eri making up for the inefficiency All Might giving it his all in his weakened state was able to generate enough wind pressure to change the weather and create miniature tornadoes because even though he was weak he was still able to use the power efficiently and he had the quirk a lot longer than Deku Deku’s only had the quirk for 2 semesters at this point so while he will eventually surpass All Might in his prime it won’t happen until he’s able to fully handle OFA and use it at 100% efficiency as well as 100% power

Sir was trying to think of different possible explanations that made sense to him, and Izuku had said to him multiple times that he would "smash" the future Sir saw. Sir decides that it's "wishing energy" and believes that, but that's just what he decided and it wasn't proven as the only answer Sir also could have not known what Eri's quirk was since it was barely explained in front of him. Plus, he could have been out of hearing range anyway, especially since Izuku was already on ground level when he talks to Eri about it. Which would explain why, when Sir was speculating to himself, it was left out as a possible explanation. However, both theories as to why the future changed, are just that, theories. We aren't given a definite answer, so fans theorize 🤷🏻 just let them

It was the combined energy and will of everyone there refusing to give up and accept a future where they failed. This is even reconfirmed later in the manga When Nighteye tested his quirk it was just him trying to change the future and he wasn’t dead set on creating a certain future, he was open to being right or wrong They make a big deal about how changing the future is a big collective effort that requires everyone giving it their all, refusing to give up and accept failure…. and then people ignore it and say it was all either Eri’s power, it was all Deku punching and kicking, or Nighteye’s quirk works in some unexplained way that’s different to what is expressly stated

My theory is that night eye can only see possible futures by calculating the most probable outcome of the current situation and since that changes constantly, his future vision becomes less overpowered and less accurate. But he does that kind of subconsciously so hes just convinced that the future he sees is more fate than possibility

Ive cried every time I've watched this episode from just that single frame
