Yeah, and it _is_ presented as a flaw of Midoriya again and again and again. His lack of Selfpreservation hurts the people around him, not physically, but metally, everytime. He _has_ to learn to not break himself when fighting, or he'll be dead before he graduates

2024-08-30 07:21:43 +0000 UTCDescribing Deku's time at UA is like that salesman in SpongeBob who keeps tricking SpongeBob and Patrick to buy his stuff when they're trying to sell chocolate

2023-12-21 18:23:27 +0000 UTCThats what I mean, their ideas alone have potential, it’s just that they are sadistic and violent serial killers. I’m not saying that they’re good, I’m just saying that if it weren’t a house fire and rather a little campfire, they could be somewhat respectable

2023-12-20 04:27:59 +0000 UTCThat’s like saying if you ignore the fact the house is on fire then it’s actually quite toasty and warm. You can make a good point without being an evil piece of shit

2023-12-20 04:21:10 +0000 UTCOh no worries. I was only teasing you considering from what I’ve seen endeavor is your type.

2023-12-01 03:14:28 +0000 UTCSidenote: In a future episode someone's license says 20XX so it can't be beyond 2099. Unless that was a mistake by the animators

2023-11-30 23:35:42 +0000 UTCIf the intention matters more than not following the laws/rules, then someone like Stain, who intends on bettering society, would not be considered a villain. Villains in this world are just people who break the law, a guy who steals bread to feed his family is still considered a villain. This is why Froppy was adamant about calling out her classmates, breaking the law for righteous reasons is still breaking the law

2023-11-30 23:14:04 +0000 UTCWhile I agree the situations are different (looking to kill vs looking to rescue), Deku and co also aren't just stumbling across the Bakugo being held somewhere and deciding to free him. They got a classmate to make them a tracker because they had no idea where he was being held. They traveled hours to a completely different city to track him down. The police are actively looking into it and probably have better information than they do but they still decide to get involved anyway. If they were watching him be kidnapped it'd be a different story (even though in universe they actually still wouldn't be legally allowed to intervene if that was the case, personally I think that's a bit much), but they weren't, it was days after the actual kidnapping took place. And the whole point of the laws in question and what happened with Stain is that just because things work out in the end does not mean you are allowed to ignore the laws (i.e. vigilantism).

2023-11-30 21:28:15 +0000 UTCNow objectively, he does his job as hero very well. As an average human being, husband and father, he’s a piece of shit, but there’s a reason he’s the number 2 hero
Big K
2023-11-30 21:05:27 +0000 UTCIt’s interesting, we see the villains purely as just bad guys because people like Muscular are honestly just terrible people, but if you alter your perspective just a little bit and cut out your definition of good and evil, a lot of the villains make fair points.
Big K
2023-11-30 21:03:45 +0000 UTCI think it's worth exploring the idea of the villains trying to recruit someone by "just asking questions" in regards to real world groups that try to derail public discourse by "just asking questions."

2023-11-30 20:21:11 +0000 UTCOh I know. It’s just funny to me that Kenny REALLY wants Montana to like endeavor and stain.
Christopher Collier
2023-11-30 20:02:41 +0000 UTCOtaku notoriously simp for mass and serial killers. All in all, even with all the shit he's done, Endeavor isn't the worst guy people swoon over.

2023-11-30 20:00:32 +0000 UTCOkay Kenny. I know endeavor has big muscles and could lift with you one arm, but you gotta admit he’s not exactly the face of heroism.
Christopher Collier
2023-11-30 19:30:58 +0000 UTCSo Kenny, have you not seen any of the movies or only some of them? I remember you saying that you haven't seen two heroes but what about heroes rising and the other one?

2023-11-30 17:29:16 +0000 UTCexactly, Iida went to hosu solely to hunt down stain, fully premeditated, where as deku, kiri+ want to rescue bakugou after being kidnapped. Iida intended fight to hurt stain, deku,Kiri+ are aiming to do the opposite
Phoenix Mackenzie
2023-11-30 16:00:42 +0000 UTCI think what's important to consider when comparing this situation to the Stain Incident, is that Iida did not just happen to stumble upon Stain committing a crime and tried to stop him. Even if he was just doing nothing at the time, Iida would still try and hunt him down, because that was his reason for being in Hosu in the first place. It's different from knowing about a crime happening at the moment (kidnapping and holding a hostage), and trying to stop it (even if you try to do it using extrajudiciary means).
