Lelouch learned young to detach himself from death in war, this ep we see him lead without that weight. Instead of bravado and maniac laughter he is genuinely happy and relaxed having fun with friends. How would his future be had his life not been a trauma-fest?

sammypompeius

Euphy was trying to help but Lelouch feels betrayed, she "understands nothing" of his, and those who suffered like him's, pain. The Special Administrative Zone is performative acceptance, explaining Schneizel's support. "Working for the system is hard but it's right" and Brittania keeps japanese working for cheap in hope of being "one of the good ones" + completely destroys support for resistance. What could make the SAZ work?
