SoVR Post-Game Diary #6

Hello everyone,

Time to reveal a bit more about the game. And this time, I'm coming with something more tangible than in the previous post.

Behold the main game mechanic of the post-game content:

A Skill Tree

(Yes, the UI doesn't look the same at all, we're working in changing it completely :x)

It works exactly the same way you'd expect a skill tree to work. Through the game, you'll get points depending on your actions (the majority given through H content but not only). You'll be able to spend those points in that tree to unlock different things.

There are three elements you can earn:

- Perversion Points (or PP). This is the perversion value of each girl. It can only raise and is the most easy to get. Perversions Points can be needed to unlock skills in the perversion tree, but they will also serve other purposes. Some scenes will be locked if you haven't reached the necessary amount of points (you'll be told in the game how much you need to unlock them, don't worry) and some scenes will feature different outcome based on a perversion threshold (different dialogue or different behaviour). As shown in the tree, you also need to reach a certain value to unlock tier 2 & 3 of the tree.

Some of you might think of it as SoV2 stats system but it's so condensed (since there's only one value) that I don't think it really compares. Also, unlike SoV2, since I've planned everything beforehand, there SHOULDN'T (I keep conditional because I can fuck up) be strange cases where you need a huge value of perversion to unlock something pretty vanilla. Buying a skill in the perversion tree does NOT deplete PP. The value can only increase.

- Obscene Matters (or OM). These are elements that are generated through sexual activity. So unlike PP that you can get in some situations that don't necessarily call for sex, OM does. Buying a skill with OM DOES deplete the value.

- Horny Coins (or HC). Horny coins are normal yens imbued with sexual powers. They're a bit more tricky to get: it's money, but it needs to have been money involved in a lewd context. For example: if you win at the lottery 1 Millions Yen, you'll get 0 HC. If you find a coin of ten yens that fell from the pocket of a port actor, it will be a Horny Coin. Of course, everything will be directed properly. When you'll earn money, you'll be told how much HC you got if there's any. Since it's a currency, HCs are used to pay Anaëlle to either buy items or skills for which she needs to use her powers.

For the skills of the tree, their unlocking conditions are supposed to meet logical correspondance with what the values are:

PP is needed for almost everything

OM is needed for skills that affect the girl you're playing

HC is needed for skills that affect everything else

So, you play, you play aaaaaand after a while, it'll look like that

I'd like to mention something right away : you probably won't have access to the whole tree for the next update. It will be highly dependant on what's playable or not in terms of H content.

Now, about the content of the tree itself. As you can see, there are 5 colored square types with a different icon inside. They all correspond to a category. When there's a line linking them, it means the previous skill is necessary to unlock the following (but it doesn't necessarily mean it's the only unlocking condition, if others are needed they will be explained at the bottom.)

The categories are the following:

Yellow = Accessories. Unlocking those skills allow you to equip/unequip said accessory. As shown in the screenshot, in Yuki's case, if you buy the skill, you'll be able to remove her glasses. Be careful, in the case of already owned accessories like glasses, buying the skill enough to trigger them on/off. But if you're buying the skill to wear a new accessory, it will have to be bought to Anaëlle with HC as well.

Blue = Sexual Powers. These are magical powers that the girl will unlock definitively. They correspond to the amulets' power from before.

Green = World Changes. These are skills that change things about the world around. People saying different things or acting differently. Or physical changes on specific NPCs.

Red = Fetishes. No wonder it's the biggest tree. Unlocking those skills will trigger an enjoyment of said fetish for the girl. While they're often linked to each other, in most of the cases, the girl will have to experience it beforehand (usually in a situation not calling for it) before being able to unlock said skill. For gameplay purposes, I allowed myself a slight incoherence with the scenario for Yuki (There's a skill for enjoying smegma even if she technically already does but it was really needed for that tree.)

Black = Passive abilities. These are skills that allow you to increase your income of points. Either by turning some elements into point-earning ones, or simply by increasing the value you can get from a specific action/scene by a certain %.

That's it for now. For those of you who have PTSDs of SoV2, I'd like to mention that SoVR will NOT have a time limitation, so there's no rush in gaining those stats, you'll be able to play at your pace, don't worry.

I'm pretty satisfied by the tree in itself. Visually we'll need to tweak some things more, but the global idea is here. I hope you'll like the idea :p

Meanwhile, I'll see you later o/
