This post wasn't planned at all. After all, it's something that kinda fell on my head this morning... You see, when I rendered the title screen for the game, I had to go through Photoshop to improve the image a bit. I added a sky, changed a bit the lighting, and I actually corrected a problem on Kaya's hair. This problem is what you can see on the third pic. I thought it would be a one-time thing, but as I rendered the first H scene I had worked on yesterday, I realized that this bug kept going. The bug is simple: You see that part circled in black? It's ugly as fuck and shouldn't exist. It's polygonal and is kinda like the worst thing you can hope seeing for hair. So I faced a small existential crisis about this: Should I keep it and risk having to photoshop every pic with Kaya (we're talking about the heroine here, not some NPC, so it would means quite the extra work) OR should I try to lose time right now and search for a new haircut while there wasn't too much to re-render? As the title said, I chose the second option. So I spent an extra 3 hours searching for a new haircut and the funniest part is that NONE of the haircut I had were fitting her (or should I say, the very few fitting ones were already used by other characters.) So I tried that haircut I had already tried before but wasn't satisfied with. After seeing there was actually morphs that I hadn't seen the first time, I ended up with a satisfying look. The funniest pas being that, as you can see, it's more or less an upgraded version of her haircut in the first game. So I guess it's a win win situation x) I've started re-doing all the renders I've done until now (it's quick for those I still had the files, but I had already deleted the menu ones, so I had to redo them from scratch -_-) All in all I'll have lost today and a I'll lose a part of tomorrow into redoing all that, but I think it's a necessary evil. At first it'll look "less good" than the previous one, but honestly it didn't take me more than a day to ended up thinking this one looked better XD Kaya even looks younger with that haircut. So what more could we ask? I just took the chance of fiddling with the hair color to insert a slight amount of (real) purple braids inside her hair. If you have a keen eye you should see it. I like the result. Anyway, that's the kind of thing that I'll probably thank myself to have done so early in development :p I hope you'll still like her new look, and I'll see you in a few days for more stuff to show o/
