Howdy Patrons!
While we have been quiet and heads down lately, we are still hard at work getting everything ready for the upcoming test later on this summer! There are many changes coming and we wanted to start sharing some of the big updates with you all over the coming weeks and months.
Special Abilities, as previously stated, have undergone a sizeable philosophy change. They no longer are pro/con abilities but rather abilities that define a Myth's thematic and playstyle. Today we are going to share some of the bigger changes with you all. We will also be preparing a short video for you to showcase some of these updates with you later in the month!
Marina: The Sirelean Sentinel
Previously, Marina's RMB was a charm that slowed her for a lengthy duration leaving her susceptible to enemy attacks. Her whole identity is focused around protecting and shielding her teammates from harm. As such we have swapped her second basic ability, her shield, and her charm. The abilities have been rebalanced accordingly allowing her to shine through her new Special ability with powerful shields!
Arawn: Harbinger of Doom
We have never found a good iteration of a pro/con ability that we were happy with, so we went back to the drawing board with this one to find an ability that will help further Arawn's identity. What does Arawn want? He wants to be in the thick of fights causing havoc and dealing damage. As so we have decided to give Arawn a short cooldown AOE burst damage ability that he can use regularly in fights and skirmishes. This quick burst of damage shreds Magic Resists that stacks on subsequent casts allowing his damage to increase the longer fights go on. We believe this will further incentivize players to go in to maximize efficiency for themselves and their teams.
Dante: Protector of Aegis
Dante's change is a much simpler one as his RMB really only has a few downsides with it but overall felt like an ability that belonged. Dante is no longer silenced following his 10 shots, however, the disarm remains as it fits the thematic of what the ability means to him and his character. This means during the recharge you will still be able to dash, throw grenades, and snipe those enemies as they try to escape after the onslaught from your Overload!
Exiel: Blades of Duality
Exiel had a huge problem with his previous Special ability in that it felt out of place and lackluster. It allowed him to build bruiser and still deal large amounts of damage, which is not something an assassin should be focusing on doing. While we originally wanted to do larger sweeping changes to his kit to accommodate this (which may still come later down the line), we settled for a simpler change that allows Exiel to empower his basics as before but without the silence so he can use this damage towards the goal of executing his opponents with his ultimate. We rebalanced a few other aspects of his kit to ensure bruiser Exiel is not the best version of him, but we will be monitoring these changes going forward and making adjustments as we go!
Let us know about what you think of these changes in the discord!
