Primordial land shattered under the intensity of the Citadel’s Siege, Edolas trickled into creation scattering sand and Life all through the scorching land. Lost and confused, Grog’Narc unleashed its wrath upon the newly formed land. The stone giant roamed the endless desert as it carved its valleys, flattened its plains, and annihilated any foe until it had no purpose or match for its might.
Without motivation, it slowly faded into a deep slumber. Through endless storms, crystals and sediments crusted around its body eventually forming Edolas’ enormous mountain range. Millennia passed until, one day, enchanted dynamite blew off the mountain’s peak and marked the start of Halcyonar’s mining craze. Humans and Fae full of greed and craving power began excavating the mineral-rich mountain chain. Each explosion continuously shook it to the core, Grog’Narc deep in its sleep felt the growing aggression. Embedded deep in the crust it had no option but to witness the insolence with pent-up anger. Miners dug ever deeper and faster through the mountains, carving new paths and hollows towards their inevitable end. The closer they got to the titan, the more valuable the gems and ore became.
A lone fae worker ventured deep into an unexplored cave system, where he found a cavern brimming with priceless minerals; gems sprouted like radiant teardrops on the tips of stalactites while rhinestones peppered the spaces in between. Gemstones that glistened from within paved a path that wrapped around the central column. When he got to the top, he found the biggest essentia diamond anyone had ever seen. His headlight dispersed an amber glow through the gem, refracting ancient warnings against the walls of what lay beneath. Terrified but determined, the worker missed the omen's meaning and removed the massive gem. Encumbered upon his descent, he slipped and accidentally triggered the magical flare clipped to his belt.
The embers from the flare ignited a reaction in the volatile minerals, a chain of magic-fueled sparks and explosions that loosened the last remaining shell. A deafening rumble started as a response from within the mountain. A giant crack began to split the cave, the floor opened displaying three furious eyes. The miners camping above awoke to an earthquake and the mountain falling apart, the source became clear when stone-like claws burst from the ground as Grog’Narc tried to rise.
The land shook in a fit of prehistoric anger as the giant struggled for days to release its limbs. Leaders from across the desert sent casters to investigate the source of the disruption. Hovering right outside its reach, Solarium’s light army began to chant. Their voices echoed deep inside Grog’Narc causing immense pain. Fueled by the new attack, it freed itself and turned to slash at the enemy. Focused on stopping the pain, it missed. The mountains and everything around began to grow. Grog’narc shrunk in size, each stride covering less and less land. Its intelligence grew as its body turned into a small fraction of its previous might. Before things could get worse, Grog’Narc burrowed in the sand and disappeared into the same land it helped form.
