Wings of Valor

Hey Patrons!

We hope you all are enjoying the holiday season with friends and family! Today we wanted to give you some lore and a sneak peak introduction into what's coming!

The heat of the Zurian desert was a comforting balm against my skin as I worked on the warship's innards. My hands, stained with oil and essentia, moved with a skill born from years of tending to these majestic beasts of Heka. They were my children, in a way—the only legacy I would leave behind.

The clang of metal and the hiss of steam filled the air, a symphony of progress and power. I paused, looking at the intricate blend of Zurian resources—stone, wood, and technology—before me, the embodiment of Heka's might and legacy. A legacy I shared through each tightened bolt and calibrated gear.

Then, the alarms shattered the calm.

A siren's call to war rang out. Soldiers dressed in armor that sparkled like the desert sands at high noon rushed into the hangar, their steps loud and resolute as they boarded the warships.

With a deep breath, I watched my creations come to life, their engines roaring with a might that matched the blood of Ahui coursing through the city's veins. The wings of the ships began to glow with blue light, flickering at first, then shining so brightly that they looked like solid blue flames. The ships ascended gracefully, each one carrying Heka's warriors into the azure sky.

My creation’s shadows glided over me, one after another, like silent guardians. Soaring past the pyramids, where the centennial ritual unfolded, they headed towards the looming threat.

From the ground, I witnessed the dance of war—my metallic dragons clashing against the real fire-breathing dragons from Verinor. Cannons thundered as streams of flame and black smoke obscured the sun. My heart stopped for a second when a green dragon tore a wing off one of my ships, sending it spiraling downward. Then, I saw the parachutes I had invented deploy midair as soldiers glided to safety.

Above, razor nets sprang to envelop the roaring dragons, their wings tangled as they took their last freefall. My heart swelled with fierce pride as Heka's fleet turned the tide, blue wings slicing through the black smoke. Our military might was unmatched under the unforgiving sun.

As silence fell and victory was claimed, the soldiers returned, their eyes alight with the rush of survival. They spoke of my warships with reverence, declaring them the steel wings of Heka that safeguarded their return.

"Ptahmek, your vessels saved us," they said, clapping my back with gratitude.

It was then I understood; my legacy was not one of lineage but of steel and fire. I had no offspring, but I had armed the skies with Heka's military might. Each victorious warship that returned under the banner of Ahui's city was a testament to my life's work.

I smiled, alone but not unfulfilled, as the sun dipped below the central pyramid on the horizon. My legacy was inscribed in the skies of Heka, etched in the annals of military history, never to be forgotten.
