Hello Everyone,
We are at the very end of the month and I have one more, possibly another for my patrons if I get to it by the end of today. This post is to present all of you a new bard subclass called the College of Spice. This subclass was requested by one of my patrons that wanted a culinary flavor to features that changed how a spell looks and acts.
One of the easiest ways to change a spell is using meta magic, it lets you increase the range, twin spells, and a variety of other effects. I took the idea of them and created some new effects (like changing the components required, reverse the expected effects of a spell, and others.
At higher levels I took the idea of the culinary flavor, and made it an actual effect with Lingering Aroma. Originally I had this spell work in the area of an area of effect spell, but Bards don't use too many of those. That would really limit the function and use of this feature, so I changed it to create an aura around a single target of a spell.
The 14th level ties back to our 3rd level feature, allowing you to use two infusion during one spell cast. While it is a fairly powerful effect, it is limited by the number of bardic inspirations you have, and doesn't increase the number of uses of bardic inspiration you have, like other official subclasses do.
My patron and myself are happy with the subclass and I believe it is ready for play testing at this point. If you or any of your players decide to use this subclass please let me know how it goes and provide any feedback you might have.
