Addressing a Grave Violation of Privacy | Personal Follow-Up

This betrayal makes us question those around us, wondering who might be smiling to our faces while mocking and laughing at us behind our backs. All this over a game? A game we’re still determined to release despite the challenges we have faced and are currently facing.

I am truly devastated and disgusted that instead of talking to us directly and asking us questions if they were truly concerned about us or heard a very damning accusation against us, creating hate group chats and servers was the go-to.

I am further livid and nauseous that people believe that JambeeBot’s mental health crisis was a way to avoid the criticism over the delay of SDJ. When in reality, it was because they found out that people that they befriended, vouched for, defended, and were vulnerable with, betrayed that vulnerability, that trust, and that friendship by creating and participating in servers and group chats to mock them, laugh at them, and lie on them.

We made the other day’s announcement because we were informed another contractor’s consent, personal boundaries, and issues were violated, and being used as a weapon to hurt us again. And some of you were curious as to what we meant by this happened AGAIN? The voice behind Jack and Jambee, NaughtyMaus was facing a housing crisis. They publicly asked for help regarding their living situation. The community decided to create false rumors and lies that Maus was not paid and we should donate our entire Kickstarter fund and/ or Patreon funds to help Maus get housing. Maus was rightfully and understandably livid when they found out. Upon learning of the community’s actions, they then had to reveal a very personal traumatic reason for their living situation to dispel the lie that was placed on us. They should’ve never had to do that. Because people should’ve never been speculating on their personal life.

I’ve done everything I can since I took over in June, in an attempt to make up for the failings of previous management, yet lies and misinformation about me, JambeeBot, Maus, and SnaccPop Studios have spread, further damaging the studio’s reputation.

I’m so hurt, disgusted, frustrated, and rightfully angry. I want ALL those involved to take responsibility, not with private apologies but public ones. Admit the lies, the broken trust and confidence, and the harm caused. Let the community see and hear the truth. If people decide to distance themselves from them, that’s a consequence of their actions, just as we face ours. If you decide to unfollow, unsubscribe, or even block us, once again, you have every right to. We respect and honor your decision.

No private apologies will suffice and no one can accept an apology for me on my behalf, except me. Those that they lied to contribute to the belief and stereotype that I, as a Black woman, am angry, stupid, mean, rude, and greedy, they need to come out and publicly admit that they did so and apologize. Those that they lied to contribute to the belief and stereotype that JambeeBot, as a Hispanic non-binary AFAB person, is just angry, mean, emotionally overdramatic, they need to come out and publicly admit that they did so and apologize. If they created or contributed to the lie that Maus was not paid by SnaccPop, they need to come out and publicly admit that they did so and apologize. No making themselves pitiful for sympathy—I, JambeeBot, Maus, and others within the studio are the ones who’ve been wronged.

I want a public acknowledgment and apology of the lies and misinformation spread. Admit your actions, admit that you created and/or participated in hate groups chats/servers, admit that people being vulnerable with you and their personal lives you only saw as tea to be sipped and spilled, and the falsehoods you promoted and allowed to be promoted which led to others in the community believing in and defending your lies and misinformation and then leave this community, space, and us alone.
