In the quiet

We've been working on this in the quiet, but for transparency's sake, here's a little test sample from both of us! Mika's lineart and colours by moi.

As most of you know we're both very busy with different projects and it's especially affected my schedule. Working on Small Trolls has been sluggish and frustratingly slow from my part so we decided to swap roles.

We had planned to do this for the next story of the boys anyway, but we're now going to do it sooner. We don't want to end up with a discrepancy between the styles within chapters though, so we've got something in the works to correct that.

Thumbnail and pencil stages are still going to be the ground where we lock horns and do them together. Mika's been having a go at adopting the tools I usually use for inking (technique, brushes and pressure wise) and I'll try to adopt more of his colouring techniques and taking advice from him when it comes to colouring in general. It's been really fun and exciting experiment for both of us. ♥

We've worked together for a long time now and we feel like everything interconnects really well with our styles and ideas. Having Mika inking the pages takes a huge amount of stress off me. Colouring I'm much more confident with being able to do fluidly, especially with Mika being there to comment and help me improve and vice versa.

You might find that the Small Trolls website is down at the moment. There's been a glitch on the site for quite a while now but I've not had the opportunity to go and fix. That's another thing I need to sort out.

Once I have a moment, I will make the comic downloadable from our Dropbox so you can still read it even though the website is down.

I'll make a separate post for that when I've got it for ya! There'll be a link to it from the website as well.
