Had they not become extinct, pseudosuchians could have probably evolved into abelisaur-like forms. I named this one Pseudocarnotaurus.
One of the main difference between pseudosuchians and later theropod dinosaurs was at their heel bones. Pseudosuchians, like Poposaurus shown above, had protruding, crocodile-type heels; while the dinosaurs, like the real Carnotaurus shown below, had an "avemetatarsalian" condition in which the foot joint was more bird-like.
This is thought to have given them an edge in mobility, helping them out-compete pseudosuchians and other early forms.
