There's a lot of cultural shit that molded you to think the way you do. It's really, really hard to break through that (speaking as somebody from TX). I bet it's even more deeply-ingrained if you have family who are cops for a living. I think the only way to shed that cultural framing is by actively seeking out and believing peoples' experiences that differ from your own. For what it's worth, instead of summary execution I think most people would be okay with disbanding police and giving ex-cops education and job options so they don't turn to organized crime. If a cop gets killed to prevent the murder of an innocent, sure, that's fine. But generally leftists aren't out to permanently fuck anyone.

For Justin, Liam, and Alice, I don't mind if you kick me out of the patreon for the drama. It's your decision and choice, and I should have kept my mouth shut.

So it's no longer okay to be a healthy middle ground, I must either totally be for the police state and the violence it causes (Fun fact, I'm not) or totally for the idea of dismantling the entire system and shooting every cop with a Kalash because the system must burn? 2020, where having an opinion that maybe there is a middle ground somewhere, a compromise that can fix the problem properly is haram and must be purged.

Your server is full of ACAB people and I feel like I don't even know who I am anymore after trying to explain my case and just being called an "Apologist to state violence" purely because I have family in the force. Not asking you to change anything, I'm just... not sure how the fuck to feel anymore and really questioning my own thoughts. My stance is this: I want the good parts of the police (protecting from crime and the people who do them and helping communities grow by support and outreach) to be built up and be the best thing it can be, not have every cop lined up on the street and summarily executed because a good deal of the system is corrupt. But I also am wondering if my mental process of thinking and how I was raised is part of the "problem". White, southern raised, lived in the sticks and never really encountered many police with family in the force. I guess I'm "part of the problem", but I don't know anymore. Your podcast is still amazing though, I just don't know anymore.
