This game and Hades are tied for my favorite Roguelikes. The difficulty is done sort of like the "Heat" mechanic in Hades, but with preset difficulties that unlock after you beat a run on the previous highest difficulty, up to a certain limit. Extremely fun but also very unforgiving at times.

2025-12-17 00:51:52 +0000 UTC—"So the game is brutal" Oh man, you have *NO* idea (shudders). No, seriously. You have zero idea just how brutal Dead Cells is. It hurts, but it also feels good. It's a delicate balance. And the OST definitely helps.
