1-on-1 "Office Hours" available to all Patrons
Added 2019-12-09 21:34:46 +0000 UTCThe thing that I'm most passionate about is helping people solve problems and enjoy FPV. One-on-one sessions are the most rewarding way of doing that.
Recently, I posted a new Patreon tier that has a 1-on-1 session as a reward, and I think it may have given the wrong impression. The new tier has a high dollar amount attached to it because I want to discourage people from demanding that I drop everything right now and help them (and yeah, this does happen). Instead of saying, "No, I refuse to help you," I can just say, "Okay, if you really want that, here's what it'll cost you."
I'm incredibly thankful for all of my Patrons, no matter what tier you're at. So I'm adding a new benefit of being a Patron: 1-on-1 "office hours". You sign up for a slot. I get on Skype (or whatever) with you. We try to figure out your problem.
This benefit is available to all Patrons at any pricing tier.
If you want to participate in the session, please comment below (say something like I want to get a slot). I will create a list of usernames and I'll help each person in order. Patrons at tiers of $10 or higher will go first in line but I will be sure that Patrons at the lower tiers also get some slots. My hunch is this won't really be an issue but I'll be monitoring it carefully.
The first session will be this Sunday, starting at 3:30 Eastern time (30 minutes after my livestream ends). The session will go for 2 hours. The session will be held in my Zoom web-conferencing room. Everyone can enter the room and watch the session, but everyone will be on mute except for the person being helped.
Each person will be limited to a maximum of 20 minutes. Names will be called in order, so please join the session at the beginning and stay in the room until your name is called. If your name is called and you're not there I'll skip to the next person and try to rotate back to you.
Please download Zoom for your PC and be prepared to screen share if you want to troubleshoot a quadcopter issue. If your name is called and your Zoom is not ready to go, I'll skip to the next person and try to rotate back to you.

If you don't have a web-cam on your PC, please download Zoom for your phone so we can use that camera (not just to see your face, but also to look closer at wiring or other issues that might need inspection).
Bear in mind that I have about 1800 Patrons, so even going for a few hours a week, it would take me a long time to get to everybody. But I hope that this can be another small benefit to thank you for your support.

You're such a fantastic and caring person. I am happy to support at the highest tier. I feel like I have learned so much just from your free content on YouTube. I no doubt will need some hand holding as I move forward at some point. So it is very generous of you to offer this to your patrons. I was wondering before checking out your patron page if it would even be possible to maybe hire you as an expert if in trouble or needing more help or something, so then I saw this as an option and I was like, this guy is amazing. I'll support him the best that I can, he has to feed his family too! All the best! Your genuine caring shows in so many of the videos you do. I recall the first one when I saw you helping a new guy fly with a rotor riot video and you watching and cheering him on the whole way... really sucked me into wanting to learn more and become involved with the FPV community! THANK YOU!

Heck, no other creator I support does that so you are going above and beyond. I just appreciate all the great content you put out.

However, a format like this I think could help several people in the “I got the same problem!” and “I will have this problem and can refer back to this.” Another marvelous tool from the Quad father!
