Ahh, the classics. I'd say they don't make 'em like that anymore, but fortunately, Tee Lopes and a bunch of indie game developers seem determined to make that statement false.
Proudly counting myself amongst your people, if you'll have me. My whole life, whenever I listened to music, it was almost always VGM. To the point where I actually don't get most references reactors make to bands and songs from "the real world" because I never listened to radio, I never went to concerts, I just played games. In my whole life, I've heard maybe three or four "normal" albums in their entirety, but I've heard dozens of VGM soundtracks.
It's okay, I know I'm weird =)

Absolutely iconic stage a fan favourite and for good reason. While music is usually great in Sonic the stages themselves can be hit or miss even in good games (think of Labyrinth Zone from Sonic 1 most don't like that stage) but here it's a 10/10 for both gameplay and music so it's a quintessential stage for Classic Sonic. So much so infact that the stage actually came back in the next big game of Sonic Adventure in 3D form (the music is entirely separate however so you didn't miss a theme don't worry lol) which usually never happens outside of anniversary games like Generations or the exception of Green Hill Zone being re used alot since it's the first stage
