Doing my normal bs where I leave additional context for you here in Patreon that I left out of the Youtube comment. Sorry, please let me know if you find it annoying. Skies of Arcadia is a classic gem. It got a re-release on the Gamecube that, for storage necessity's sake, absolutely crushed the bitrate of the music and made it sound awful. People have been begging Sega for 20 years to do a modern HD re-release of it with the DC audio and the GC's additional content and balancing fixes. What makes it so special is that it stands out as an optimistic bastion in a sea of dark, broody, and edgy JRPGs that were popular at the time. It counters the standard JRPG tropes, doesn't have an edgelord main hero with a personality complex, and overall was super colorful and filled to the absolute BRIM with memorable characters, moments, and a world that felt hopeful and brilliant when the world itself kinda sucked. It's a fundamental game for me. I've taken a quote from the main character as a driving motto through my entire life, and I feel it resonates with any creator.
