Xenoblade Chronicles / DE - Zanza the Divine

I think both sides are good, in terms of the old and the new one! But the new ones are the one I am more familiar with as I plays the Definitive edition of the game first. But still happy to see you went and listend to the OG one.

You can find the original in most Gamestops for about $50. Some of the cutscenes in the Definitive Edition have audio issues such as random audio cutting and songs being removed entirely from cutscenes which was jarring to me. The only other big gripe is that a lot of the early cutscenes that were suppose to be "mysterious" have basically lost that trait because of the lack of fog that the original had in some of the cutscenes. The rest is a step up to the 2010 game. The epilogue story is also ass, but doesn't hurt the main game.

Awesome! I’m so glad you’re willing to give Xenoblade Chronicles a go, it’s my favorite modern game - the story is amazing. I’d also recommend the Definitive Edition. I like the Wii version for its more raw feeling on both graphics and OST but it’s crazy how much the original game also didn’t have (like health bars lmao)

Also, just as a side note, a copy of the original Wii version is one of the most expensive video games currently being sold. Because it was so popular and is out of print, expect to pay $700-1300 on almost any website that even carries it. So…yes I would recommend Definitive Edition for that reason as well.

In my opinion, yes, 100%. Nothing is changed narratively, and a TON of quality of life improvements have been added. It’s the best way to play the original imo.

Should I look into playing DE instead of the original when that time comes?

FYI, yes, Definitive Edition is an updated and improved Switch port of the original Xenoblade Chronicles 1 that came out all the way back in 2011 on the original Wii if you can believe it. Definitive Edition is a vast improvement with visuals, character models, textures, etc. it also includes an all new extra DLC epilogue story following the events of the main game called “Xenoblade Chronicles: future connected”

Aww yeah, one of the best final boss themes ever. This one goes hard
