My favourite part about this episode is when Sunohara says that the reason he never said anything about Tomoya and Mei's (fake) relationship is because it was Tomoya. Even though he thought Mei was too young to get a boyfriend, and he felt like he had to protect her as her older brother, he knew that Tomoya would never hurt her or treat her badly. He decided to keep quiet, not because he didn't care, but because he trusted his best friend to take care of her. I think a part of him even felt that Tomoya could give Mei something that he couldn't. It's just one line in the middle of a heated fight scene, but the emotions behind it really stuck with me.

the soccer team was absolutely unacceptable. Putting Mei a defenseless little girl in danger and talking bad about her brother (family). I’ve noticed family has figuratively seemed to be a reoccurring role in this story.

It was quite a tone shift in the encounter with the soccer team. Thinking back on everything from season 1 up until now, there really haven't even been any antagonists. The only people who started out looking like they might be an antagonist (like the choir club or Kotomi's guardian) turned out to be good-natured. But the soccer team was just horrible with inexcusable behavior. And the only other time we've seen Tomoya that angry has been at his father.

Finally managed to catch up with the Clannad reactions! Afterstory seems way different from original Clannad, it makes me feel very mixed at some points, sometimes I genuinely don‘t know what would be the right thing to do in Okazaki‘s place. Only thing that‘s bothering me is, that we don‘t have the dango dango ending song hahaha I loved that one
