Horse Ranch Discussions
Added 2023-07-21 11:49:00 +0000 UTCSo I finally played a bit and the stuff I am putting down my thoughts here about what I want to do. Most are longterm projects.
1. Make craftables using prarie grass and other natural materials ( similar to garland making and banana leaf crafting)
2. Make food based Dinner at the ranch theme
3. Make Native American inspired food
4. Make hybrid 3 sisters plant which gives all three harvestables
5. Make BBQ/Grill food
6. Make some low cost/low effort simple food
7. Add meat curing/jerky options to Canning or Mill ( not decided)
8. I am debating keeping my nectar maker as it is with maybe just a name change because the one that came with the game only has 5 skills and very few recipes
9. Add hunting ( like sims medieval) and gathering wild berries, nuts etc etc
( though tbh I am really not sure I want to add hunting - maybe gathering will give you random meat ? Only Gathering lifestyle instead of hunting and gathering lol)
10. Add many more preserves and mill products ( I have so many things i want to do for these)
11. Continue with Hard Spirits distillery and definitely make Moonshine
12. I have a cool idea for a Barbie themed Ranch restaurant with fun dishes with fun names ( I really want to do this lol)
Will add to the list
Note : Lately I have been taking more time making the food because I have started making the meshes more complex and handpainting everything is naturally taking more time. hope you guys like that and dont want me to use game meshes and less handpainted textures. If you guys like it, it will all be worth the effort 🥰

2023-08-14 20:42:54 +0000 UTCSorry if someone has already said this, but wonder if you could update dairy cow/dairy cowplant to use prairie grass hay (in addition to the "hay" in the original files) as food

2023-07-27 20:14:55 +0000 UTCThank you for all your creative ideas that add such depth to the gameplay. I would really like to see more off the grid recipes for Decades Challenge/Rags to Riches type games. Thanks!

2023-07-27 19:00:20 +0000 UTCI LOVE these ideas. Maybe an agave, barrel cactus, or prickly pear harvestable or something? Agave for your distillery and prickly pear for both the pears and the pads (called nopales here in California). The Barrel cactus could be recolored from the pink flowered barrel cactus to little yellow pineapple-shaped fruits. Also cholla, which is a super nasty cactus to try to harvest. Thank you for everything. I really appreciate your hard work and creative mind!

2023-07-25 21:20:50 +0000 UTCHello. I really like your ideas. A think I would have like to see with the Native American elements that have came to the Sims 4 is medicinal herbs and tea that are traditional to their culture. One of the best things they teach to us, now, in North America.

2023-07-25 15:13:09 +0000 UTCI do plan to integrate them to some degree...at the very leaset add more options to the ranch nectar

2023-07-25 15:12:31 +0000 UTCI just noticed how limited the amount of fruit nectar we can make is on the horse ranch nectar machine is- it would be great if you can implement more fruits and veggies we can make on it and store to age OR use your machine we can store and age nectar to sell so we have more variety

2023-07-25 15:03:46 +0000 UTCAs others have stated, the hunting could be a (lol) rabbit hole, but the gathering gives occasional meat sounds interesting. "I was picking berries and accidentally stepped on a rabbit."

2023-07-23 17:15:03 +0000 UTCI like the idea of hunting and gathering. Maybe you can make it be a similar portal to the Magic Beans Tree?

2023-07-23 09:53:00 +0000 UTCFor the nectar maker, maybe we can have an option to integrate your creations into the machine that comes with the DLC? like your jams, which can be made in any oven.

2023-07-23 09:46:41 +0000 UTCThank you for giving me this perspective. Much appreciated. I have already added two separate interactions! 1. Hunting ( for meat) 2. Gatheting for misc stuff and seeds and berries. It will be a rabbithole interaction for now but will expand on it further.

2023-07-23 07:11:35 +0000 UTCI got this notification and chewed on it awhile wondering whether or not I should comment. Alas, here I am. I come here as a hunter hoping to appeal to your sense of inclusion and connection. When you mentioned removing 'hunting' and changing it to 'gathering meat' it left a sour taste in my mouth. The majority of people around the world are meat eaters. Problem there lies in the disconnection from our food. No one (except farmers and ranchers) in modern times has to hunt or cull their own herds as in days of old for their sustenance, but the animals are STILL dying as a result of our meat consumption, they're just presented in plastic packages all clean and clinical so as not to offend the buyer. I'm a Permaculturist (extreme gardening with the inclusion of animals) and a hunter. Hunting fed my family many a winter we were snowed in as a kid and as an adult I understand the disconnect we have with out food. It's what originally brought me to you, your seeds that allowed me to grow my Food Forest in Sims4, that deeper connection even in digital form made my game better. I've been told I'm cruel for being a hunter, but what I find to be more cruel is to be ignorant of how the meat shows up on your plate every night without a thought otherwise. Just the thought of omitting the word (not sure your reasons for entertaining the idea) lends to the disconnect to our food and where it comes from. No one goes to the wood to 'gather meat', they hunt it and sometimes if they aren't' successful, they go to bed hungry. This happens all over the world. Please, reconsider shielding players from the Truth of where their food comes from, even if it is a subliminal digital attempt at keeping the connection present. Hunters are not bad people, not is hunting a bad thing that needs to be tucked away like some old family secret. Thank you for reading this, off to plant some more Food Forests in game!

2023-07-23 01:13:00 +0000 UTCYour mods are my favorite and I cannot play without them. I appreciate the level of detail that each of your recipes, harvestables, etc. have and appreciate your ingenuity. Can't wait to see all of these things that you have on your list as they come out!

2023-07-22 20:06:40 +0000 UTCIt looks like they had started to consider #1 with the basket weaving deco they added with the expansion pack but I think they abandoned it, I personally would love if you added that with the Prairie Grass weaving. I also love the idea of curing meats and making jerky!! Always up for more ways for my sims to get inebriated and moonshine would be a great way! The food ideas sound lovely as well!
