V5 penciling WIP sample
Added 2017-01-25 15:25:01 +0000 UTCThought I'd share a quick work-in-progress screenshot from Volume 5.
This is sort of an interesting in-between stage.
I start by drawing the panel images in blue pencil. Then I scan the blues, and lay out the entire page in photoshop before I actually finalize the pencils. That way, if a big chunk of the drawing winds up being off the page, I don't waste hours detailing it in pencil.
With the blues layed out, I know exactly where I need to pencil in the details on the drawings. Then I scan the drawings, line them up on the composition, turn the blue-sketch layer off, and voila!
Final pencil art for the page.
This screen shot just looked somewhat neat, with things still being offset, so I thought It'd be fun to share.

Very clever how you 'blue pencil' and then arrange the panels after on Photoshop prior to the final penciling stage. Love it. And who's that I see in the background...? "He-he-he-he-heee!
