This episode is a completely original story that was added to the 2199 episode lineup. Throughout the episode the number 9 is displayed which leads the viewer to make a connection between the story's character and Analyzer (AU-09). After Misaki completes the final reading of the story, a copy of the book is shown laying on Sanada’s desk to imply that Sanada was the requester for the book to be read.
