Another banger to end the 'season'!

The Expanse 2x13 - 'Caliban's War' TIMESTAMP / FULL LENGTH Reaction & Review

That's great! So glad to hear you've been playing in the Tojan Reach! My main group won the boxed set for a campaign of Star Trek Adventures game we ran back in 2020. Once I opened up that sourcebook I just knew I had to run it for them and I have been for the past two years. They've just been rolling around the Dustbelt; making trouble.

Traveller is awesome! Been playing in an Actual Play (Pirates of Drinax on AcademicFoxhole) for 2 years and I completely agree that the system is fantastic. Really good to know! Thank you, my friend!

There is an Expanse ttrpg, but I'd highly recommend checking out Traveller; the ttrpg that I'm fairly sure was used by Ty Francks in his game; based on clues I've picked up in watching him and Wes talk about it. I've been running Traveller for nearly 10 years now and I can point you in the right direction if you're curious. It was also what Joss Whedon played in college that inspired his development of Firefly.

Hi there, like in so many comments before already mentioned: Great reaction(s), analysis and breakdown ...! #WellDown So, thank you for that!! Greetings from Germany :)

SupaManion

I watched all the episodes again between season releases. That helped.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to see another person experience season 3. The show just continues to outdo itself

Okay, so some random spice. "Firing Up The Barbecue" is a direct homage to the Star Child in "2001". The actor who played "Kenso" the spy (Elias Touexsis) did the mo cap for the Hybrid. I would argue that s2-12 to s3-2 are the best four episodes of television to ever go back to back.

Matt Drahos

I never watched Mythbusters but I will definitely be on the lookout during editing! Honestly, I don't know how you all didn't go mad during the hiatus :)

Fury Roll

I am writing it all down :) Someone told me the following: 'Write down 'when' you want your story to take place...because of reasons' :D

Fury Roll

Yeah, around 23 minutes into the video

Loiso Crow

The little ending where we see Mei is all we had to hang on to between S2 and S3 when the show aired. She is clearly on a different moon around Jupiter and was not the hybrid that Prax just helped to kill (I absolutely love the sequence with Prax and Naomi walking outside the Roci with a nuclear warhead!!) Back then it was another year before we got to move into one of the finest seasons of television ever produced! Cannot wait!! (also did you recognize Adam Savage from Mythbusters on the bridge of the Arborgast?? he is a huge fan of the show and was able to get a cameo and even a line or two! )

Etta Eskridge

Great reaction, as always! Not much to say apart that I love the discussions between Holden and the crew on his "deathbed". For your future TTRPG campaign : If it is half as good as your Witcher one (I still have very fond memories of it. It must be one of my favourite actual play ever) I'm eager to watch it! I hope you're writing down all your current ideas for this campaign. If not I strongly advise you to do it right now, because by the end of the show (and even during season3) you'll have a very different view of the Expanse world ;) See you soon Beratna!

Blackd0nuts

Well...you've seen just how big The Expanse can go. The insane part is it somehow gets even better than this. Your world is still going to get rocked even more and your jaw is going to hit the floor even harder as you move into S3!

Shawn Anomaly

Ahh you do that as well! For me I love playing the credits for 3x6 and 5x10 and a few others. 3x6 is just so damn beautiful! Clinton Shorter for me made some of the best scores for a tv show I ever heard!

Shawn Anomaly

Yes seriously! This is an often overlooked "actor" of the show

Blackd0nuts

Yes, I was just about to comment that next episode starts the craziest season of tv history lol.

Blackd0nuts

That's what I was talking about! The show doesn't really have any bad season finales, or even just-okay season finales, but I always had a soft spot for this one. I blame that final montage with Naomi's narration and Bobby's people throwing, because if that's not art in its purest form then I don't know what is.

two_owls

Taking another moment to call out Clinton Shorter and his wonderful job on the score. I often find myself watching the credits simply to keep hearing the music.

Chad K

The big question is, what type of character do you play in the ttrpg? An Earther? Martian? A Belter?? Very hard choice. I love your point of how they took Holden out of the equation and let the others find a solution. I never thought about it that way but my gods is that a good play. Holden was also *a lot* during the past couple episode so it was nice as a viewer to have a break. Thanks for the content, friend. Looking forward to seeing your reactions to S3.

If you think that the series has been on a roll so far then the next 13 episodes is a whole other level of amazing. Season 2 and season 3 is probably the most consistent run of top tier drama that I have ever seen a show pull off.

Muad-Dib

Yay! This is one of my favorite episodes too. I can (and have) watched it over and over again and have enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. Glad you called out Steven Strait's performance. He does such a good job playing Holden in an understated way that he often gets forgotten in the accolades given this amazing cast, but this is an episode where he really shines.

Aquitaine

Nice reaction and summary. Well said.

Wow the end of S2 already
