Plus, if you love Tendi, you get a lot of her next ep but it's the rare occasion where the B plot outshines it somehow. Prepare... for Brotherford!

2024-04-29 22:33:05 +0000 UTCIf you loved T'lyn in this one you are for SURE going to love the next couple of episodes . . . So many references in this one: the Wadi Chula game is from the truly terrible DS9 episode "Move Along Home", the Betazoid gift box is from the TNG episode Haven, and the thing that flashes at the gift box before it says "was that entire simulated life? I miss my wife" is the probe from TNG The Inner Light (one of the best TNG episodes). Also the ring-shaped world is a reference to Larry Niven's "Ringworld" (which is also the reference for Halo) - which is also very likely why Ensign Taylor was specifically in this episode because they Kzinti are originally from Larry Niven's novels - and where first introduced in the animated series in an episode written by Niven based off one of his short stories. Everything between Boimler and T'Lyn in this episode is by far my favourite bits, and the moment when Boimler dies REALLY got me the first time around! I was so scared! Carol's subplot in this with the computer was so silly, basically just an extended series of IT support jokes but I loved it haha
