No it's not the events of the Pilaf Saga have already been adapted early and even beyond that despite Goku's age the story has been progressing, you're going out of your way to make a blatantly incorrect point here. Dragon Ball content is not prequel stuff that very view of the series is just born from the whole "didn't watch who dat" meme lol
