Top Secret Glamour Mission

Another top-secret shoot yesterday, this one’s not coming out till next year, but I think it’s going to be quite amusing! I wish I could tell you more, but so many of these things have to be kept a secret, especially to protect these brands from having other brands copy what they’re coming out with! The beauty business is cutthroat!

I was just thinking about how many times this dress has been worn, and it’s been refashioned once as well. It was originally made for the grand opening of the first Louboutin store in the United States, in New York. Catherine made it, of course. I think I also wore it for a car commercial in England, and then for the Louboutin hologram. It’s a fun one to wear, and the jet black makes it work for so many color schemes.

And by the way, this location, it’s a mysterious place called the Brookledge theater. In the 1920s and 30s, it was a place where one could go purchase and try out new magic tricks. These days, it’s owned by the Magic Castle founders, and they use it as a place for occasional shows, which are by showbiz people, and for showbiz people. And the times I’ve gone there, it’s various different performers from Singers to magicians to comedians, trying out new material or just having fun with their best material, and there’s always a sprinkling of Who’s Who in the audience, from Paul Rubens, to Jay Leno, and Conan O’Brien. It’s always a hoot. I myself have not performed there yet, it’s always a little bit complicated because there’s not really a dressing room attached to it so I’d probably have to crawl out of a window from the upstairs bathroom and make my way to the stage. But I love this little place! And there’s lots of antique magic artifacts around. Orson Welles used to be a member of this Magic club as well. It’s a private residence, a 1920s Mediterranean house with a fabulous garden, the theater, plus an elaborate bar, which was the counter for selling magic. I wish I had taken more behind the scenes video and pictures, but I was strapped for time, and I was fearful of accidentally, revealing the top secret product.

I’m sure it won’t be the last time I’m there, and I think we took enough footage that we can make a separate, longer edit of the mysterious project! 🪄✨🎩🌹💋💋
