Video from the Vault, Part 1
Added 2022-10-17 15:57:47 +0000 UTCHere’s a little something from the vault, footage from 22 years ago when I was interviewed for a French cable TV show. There’s lots of my own archival footage in here, and it’s filmed in the backyard of the house I lived in back then.
It’s funny for me to watch this, I want to roll my eyeballs at nearly everything I say as a 28-year-old. It’s bizarre to hear myself having to address aging, and how at 28 and approaching 30, there was already pressure to defend my age and lie. I always say it still, even since I was in my 20s, people have been asking me about aging. And now here we are, I’m 50, and I guarantee my performances are better than they were then, and I know for sure that I can give a better interview now, even if I’m asked the same questions. Admittedly, I don’t have the same enthusiasm for talking about myself now as I did here, but I think that’s a good thing.
Beyond the cringe of hearing myself try to speak with authority back then, I’m glad I have this video of me driving my 1939 Chrysler New Yorker around Hollywood. I later sold that car in order to buy a convertible 40s car, and I believe the ‘39 shown here now resides somewhere in a museum in Germany.
Watching this video, I could make a massive list of things I have learned since then, one being how to pronounce “niche” properly.
Stay tuned for part two, where I find myself doubly annoying to watch, but I’m going to share it regardless!

You were undeniably beautiful then, but I think even sexier now!
2023-07-31 21:35:40 +0000 UTCThat was fun to watch...I think when we watch ourselves "back" we have a tendency to cringe because we over analyze our behavior instead of accepting that it's so much a part of who we have grown into today. It's all part of self-acceptance. For me, I especially love your little giggles...so sweet 💕
