Only problem with GIMP is they are supposedly near a major overhaul by mid next year. Any review of GIMP in its current state wouldn't necessarily apply (I hope). Otherwise I'd agree whole heatedly with Max. InkScape is far more difficult to wrap your head around, but GIMP has a far broader use case. You know what? If you are are really bold you can go after Krita! There will be pitch forks and torches :)

2023-12-08 20:00:07 +0000 UTCWhile I've only used GIMP and InkScape and had, by far, the harder time with InkScape, I gotta see GIMP. Its jank is arguably iconic in its own weird way. Hell, sometimes I feel like you could argue that with the GTK it spawned a whole field of jank applications.

2023-11-07 19:02:05 +0000 UTCI've never used FL but as a frequent user of both Inkscape and GIMP, I was impressed when a bit of extra work was put in to make Inkscape more usable (not perfect, maybe not good) fairly recently. GIMP... runs fine... usually...

2023-11-07 18:48:20 +0000 UTCI love FL, truly I do, but by all I hold sacred when the shortcut control in Edison inexplicably stops working and I perform some weird action in the rest of the app that can't be undone I sometimes just close the thing for the day and go skateboard.
