I posses a dart (only cause I wanted to make an enchanted dart) that works mechanically as yondu's arrow from guardians of the galaxy. I named it the "wishbone arrow" comprised from star-alloyed metal with the sharp end of the dart being the middle point of the shape. As an attack action you can throw the +2 dart at a target,then with a bonus action can proceed to move the dart to another location or another creature(needing another roll to hit) I bet you shellfish hides are wondering "why is it the shape of a wishbone" Simply you can break the dart and loose the object to cast a wish spell. The dart must be in your possession to break it otherwise the wish is randomized by the dms descression. Personally I see how broken this can be mainly because I'm an artificer and would make this item my infusion but I digress I know I'm a madman. Tortles I only ask for the shells of the eggs so I can implant my own monstrosities in them. Lmk if you need my po box.

2022-09-02 15:46:30 +0000 UTCThe scrape mechanic reminds of an article I saw complaining that dnd doesn’t allow partial/mixed successes like PBtA systems do, which sure, but in PBtA every failure causes complications, every mixed success comes with a downside, and especially starting out mixed successes are statistically more likely than full successes. If you want to benefit from a “near miss”, you gotta take the balance. Also if you want to play a game with mixed successes (or anything else that doesn’t exist in dnd), just play a different system. They’re super fun! They’re cheaper than dnd! They’re already balanced for that mechanic you want!

Instead of going after water, they use illusions to seduce their victims and suck out the salt in their bodies.
