I am all for heroes succeeding but the plot armor (Akorat not killing Bev with 2 attacks left, but has enough time to kick him) and twisting of the rules was just ridiculous. Even a Tolkien novel has more realism and that's saying something in fantasy. Final nail in the coffin was Bev putting a holy amulet into Akorat that conveniently did not kill him but let's keeps him alive to prevent his dad become next in line. Could have been so great storytelling to make him choose... when nothing ever has any consequences and everyone always survives / gets rescued / win then there is no point in listening to the episodes because what else could happen then a full out win

2019-08-23 14:36:52 +0000 UTCTo further elaborate on why this is important, one of the diseases you can give is “Slimy Doom” which says if anyone deals damage to the inflicted target they are stunned for their next turn. The way this was run in that episode potentially lets moonshine win against Theiala (or literally anyone) by herself just by casting it turn 1 and repeatedly doing anything that guarantees at least 1 point of damage every turn. The reason the spell works this way is because the effects can cripple anything in the game if it takes effect, thats why they basically have 3 turns to try and win the fight (or avoid the oncoming effect) because otherwise they are done.

2019-08-23 14:29:57 +0000 UTCSo I hate to be a bit of a rules Lawyer but I don’t want you to get womped in future big encounters as badly Daddy Murph. The way contagion works is weirdly worded but important. The effect of contagion does not happen until the target has failed 3 saving throws. Akorat should have had at least 3 turns where he got to try and save against flesh rot. Also being a paladin I assume he was immune to disease, contagion specifically states that the spell does not work on people immune to disease. Again, I hate to be a rules lawyer, i just want to make sure you know this so in future encounters it isn’t broken (the way it was played here was basically more powerful than some 9th level spells)
